Guest guest
I admire your enthusiasm in writing the following message. However, a few questions arise: a) What is the basis for calling astrology a science? b) If many of the tenets and techniques are not revealed, how does one know that those exist? (similar to the tree falling in the forest analogy!) c) Someone may interpret the reference to the sun,moon,9th and 12th house as being fully subservient and giving (12)to ones father (sun, 9th), mother (moon) for understanding everything or most anyway, and to the father more than mother since there are 2 indicators in the recommendation for father and only one for mother. There could be gazillion other interpretations. I think, and do not take this personally please, this is what makes astrology so unfathomable to most. Each indicator has so many different variations and interpretations and are so densely packed that one can reach into the Bhanumati ka pitara and bring out anything and it can fit the circumstances. Suffice it to say that we all and many others need to put in a lot of efforts into forming the foundation of astrology before we begin building the top storeys of the edifice that we all visualize it to be. rr --- In , Anupama V <anu_pama_v> wrote: > Dear All, > > Let me make a comment on all the statements.Astrology as such is not studied in most spirit and infact people are ignorant of the importance the science.Normally it is the science which will give the details of the person and it is really interesting to research on people. > > Coming on to spirituality,I feel it is nothing to do with Genes and it's all circumstances. > > Also Sun and Moon has its own impact.Infact long before modern science has comeup with the idea of chromosomes, astrological science has come up with concepts for identifying the paternity too.Infact I really wanted to research on the concepts on some individuals, but didn't have the guts for that. > > Also many a times astrologers are forced to circumstances where in they may be forced to hide up the thruth. To Quote with,Once one lady had been to astrologer with her daughters horoscope asking him if she will become a doctor with Kethu in 10th place.Initially he said no,Then came up the reply "What the child looks so bright from first sight and you say that she won't"Then he made a correction there"yes Kethu is for Cutting ,Yes she will surely get the cutting job" . > Finally she gotit-Yes she is cutting ,but not the patients, vegetables in her house. > > So friends Don't give up.There are many concepts which have not yet been revealed to the public.Just keep holding Sun moon 9th and 12th houses.Keep in touch with those Guys. One day you too will get a chance to make comments like this.Doesn't that Sound Good!!!!! > > Anupama > > > Mark Kincaid <m.kincaid@m...> wrote: > Dear all, > > Sprituality and relgious belief are governed by an individual's genetic make > up and brain chemicals, says Dean H Hamer director of Gene Structure and > Regulation Unit at National Cancer Institute US. > > He wrote a book [i have not read] "The God Gene" > > > > He establishes VMAT2 Gene as God gene. Guest guest
I appreciate your questions. My comments as under a) What is the basis for calling astrology a science? Why can't Astrology be a science??Why are we calling Physics a science? In Physics we say Gravitational pull by earth.Do you have any proof to show the gravitational pull.In what form it is?What evidence do we have earth has gravitationalpull. So based on assumptions we keep calling it a science. Here we have concepts and we conclude with assumptions and sometimes supplement with mathematical calculations. If we can conclude based on concepts and call it a science, why not Astrology???Hence I verymuch stand on my statement. b)If many of the tenets and techniques are not revealed, how does one know that those exist? (similar to the tree falling in the forest analogy!) In most of the cases things don't come to us.We should keep looking out for facts and it will come to us.I too am not from astrologer background ,but we should keep looking out for facts which will come on its way.Dear RR,it is high time that we should come out of traditional ways of gurukul system. Now we are in the modern world and there are many ways we could get information and we rarely require a Guru to teach us all the facts.Self learning is the best way to gain knowledge and believe me the most successful one too.Once I asked one priest on the contents of SUDARSHANA chakra.I was told "you are a lady and ladies are not supposed to learn all these stuffs" It sounded so bad to me.Today I know what are all basic contents of Yanthra(I mean what a Vritha is,Astadhala is and so on).I never had a Guru, but on search the matter came automatically to me.That gentleman's wording was not because of the fact that I was a lady.He wanted to avoid me and was not willing to share the information with me.So the task of gaining the knowledge is with us and for that the approach you take differs. c)I'm not that clear on your third question. But my understanding from what you have written same house have different interpretations and many a times it is difficult to make predictions.Yes I agree to that and frankly speaking I don't have answer to that.I have always noticed that many times it is always impossible to predict the death of a person.I don't know how to answer this.I leave it to other Team members to comment on the same. But I would like to add one more comment here.By Ignorance I meantPeople tend to link modern life with traditional Yakshas and so on and go about doing Poojas without knowing the reality. This is a science which can break things very clearly ,but most of times people are getting misguided.Iam sure that I may face another question here " what do you mean by misguided".To substatiate this I can explain the experience which my friend had had.The person always had ill health and none of the doctors could diagnose what exactly the disease was?Astrologers gave him the reason "effect of some spirit" and he continued performing poojas and homas at home ,but of no use. Finally one person came to the point. His analysis was somewhat this way-Food poisoning (rahu in 4th house),Source 8th house ie Servant.Keep vigil on the servant.Within two days time the servant was caught red handed poisoning the persons food.So many times we don't go on to the right target and always get misguided.Hence what Iam saying is we should come out of the traditional way of Spirits or bodies. Many times you yourself are the main person behind your failure and people don't tend to understand that. I may have come a little way out of the main topic. But my intention here to bring out the content of the subject in a broad way.
