Guest guest
It's interesting that conjunctions and house placements are being analysed individually rather then the chart as a whole. This may give a few clues but the whole chart needs to be looked at (which I'm sure you are all fully aware of). It's often difficult to asses the impact of individual planets by keeping other planetary configurations constant and changing one variable – we do not always have the luxury of such charts in Jyotish. There are so many factors and considerations that vary tremendously with every chart that it would be erroneous to label certain combinations as troublesome and certain as beneficial. For example, I have the Dasamsa charts of twins. These charts are exactly the same apart from one configuration – one has the Moon conjunct Rahu in Libra in the 5th house while the other has Moon alone in Virgo in the 4th house. By virtue of the difference of the Moon's placement the first twin has two extra yoga's – GKY and NBRY – while the other twin does not. The twin with the extra yoga's has had an excellent career in investment banking and the actuarial field while the other is a post16 teacher. These valuable charts have made me realise the importance of 1) Moon's placement in the Dasamsa chart 2) the presence of yoga's in the Dasamsa chart and 3) the impact of slight differences in the planetary configuration of a chart. Mars-Venus together represents a strong connection of the physical, aggressive energy and the creative/sensual energy. It can be said that without physical action the creative energy cannot manifest. So for sensually driven individuals in the age of Kaliyuga leading non- ascetic lifestyles (99.9% of us) this combination - especially for procreation purposes- becomes a strong positive feature of the chart as we rarely seek partners uninterested in the sexual side of marriage/relationships. However when the chart also consists of a weak Saturn (lack of discipline) this energy may create an excess due to a lack of control. A weak Jupiter also creates such tendencies due to the impact of poor moral values. Rahu makes one opportunistic and excessive in sexual pursuits while Ketu makes one secretive. So various combinations in various houses in the chart `weaken' or `strengthen' the impact of a Mars-Venus conjunction.
