Dear anupama and members,

You had mentioned you don't like to call the planets malefic because

they are representation of Gods. Can you please expand on it as my

appologies, but don't know much about it?? What about in astrology

where satrun, Rahu and ketu are known to be natural malefics?

Dear Lilly and members,

Reference to your Mail.Yes I do stand on my point that no Plantes are

malefic.Normally we quote Jupiter,Mercury, Venus and Moon as non malefic. Now

comes my point. Will these planet give good effects if positioned in a wrong

place( I mean 6th 8th and 12th houses)? The same rule applies for both the Planet

..Saturn if positioned in good places say for instance 11th house in full power

will give the same effect as jupiter put up over there( yes we need to consider

other factors while quoting Planetary effect). Also as I have mentioned these

plantes ,say for instance,Mars represents Goddess Kali in some cases Lord

Kathikeya in other instances ,Lord Veerabhadra in some cases and so on.

Also as mentioned in my mail I have quoted that "I personally" .Hence I have

made it clear that this is only my viewpoint and nothing to do with natural

astrology.I'm not too clear on the representations as Iam not too good in

Astrology.Iam just a beginner to the field hence my knowledge is limited.Hence

the wordings.Hope I have clarified your question.

Hello,

I can see your point as you have said planets will give result based

on their position in our chart. I can recall when i was going

through my 1st sade sati a few years ago. Normally most people dread

that time but it was actually an overall good period for me, minus

the normal teenage drama. It could be becuase my saturn- Lord of

3rd, 4th house is placed in the 9th house. Maybe saturn in the 9th

house gives good result.I don't know? Since i am also a begginer i

don't completly understand how planets and houses give results.

No planet is malefic or benefic, literally speaking -- yes that is

true, because planets indicate and do not 'cause' effects. However,

if you do away with the concept of malefic/benefic then it weakens

the legs that jyotish stands on and makes the output rather diffuse

and new-agey (everything is hunky dorey and good good and so on ...).

If we expand it further then factors such as shubha kartari, ashubha

or papakartari, panchadha maitri, concept of trikasthana vs

trikona/kendradhipatya, badhaka, kharasthana/kharesh, etc. risk

getting tossed out of the delineative mix.

Caveat emptor!

Hi all,

Just as all people are not the same, the planets also are not the same. Each one

has its own characteristics. For example, Saturn will do harm as well as good

out of turn; whereas Guru will not do either out of the way.

its true that planets give results as per their placements in chart.

well,as mother nature is to nourish us.......but it has all type of

things good as well as bad as typhoon etc.

there is purpose behind anything...but we call typhoon bad as being

harmful to us.

hence planets who guide us in this life with their natural tendency

of doing harm in our *worldly * life are called natural malefic and

same way some are natural benefic.

We have God in three forms Brahma(janmadataa),vishnu(paalak),shiva

(sanharak)....

shiva is natural sanharak but gives vardaan in material world also...

Other way its terminology thats needed for natural

understanding...........

sincerely

amit

Hello Lilly,

Thanks ofr your prompt reply .As iam currently on a holiday ,my access to

mails are very limited and hence the delay.

I really appreciate your argument and indeed that is good question which

needs to be debated..But my perception has a coincidence with an incident which

I came across. As part of learning I used to attend ASTAMANGALYA PRASHNA ( Debate

between Astrologers normally conducted in temples in Kerala) and try to gain

more insight into the subject. In one of the sessions I came across an Astrologer

who had 4 kids and all the 4 mentally retarded and with abnormal physical

development.I asked the Gentleman"Why this is?".I got the answer that this is

because we use the word MALEFIC quite frequetly.I myself am not sure if the

answer I got was proper or not.But ever since that incident I have made sure

that I don't use the word malefic and hence the comment.

Thanks,

Anupama

Plantes are malefic.Normally we quote Jupiter,Mercury, Venus and

Moon as non malefic. Now comes my point. Will these planet give good

effects if positioned in a wrong place( I mean 6th 8th and 12th

houses)? The same rule applies for both the Planet .Saturn if

positioned in good places say for instance 11th house in full power

will give the same effect as jupiter put up over there( yes we need

to consider other factors while quoting Planetary effect). Also as I

have mentioned these plantes ,say for instance,Mars represents

Goddess Kali in some cases Lord Kathikeya in other instances ,Lord

Veerabhadra in some cases and so on.

> Also as mentioned in my mail I have quoted that "I

personally" .Hence I have made it clear that this is only my

viewpoint and nothing to do with natural astrology.I'm not too clear

on the representations as Iam not too good in Astrology.Iam just a

beginner to the field hence my knowledge is limited.Hence the

wordings.Hope I have clarified your question.

hello members,

Iam afraid that we are drifting from the basics of Astrology by refering to God

in anlysing the results and nature of planets.By nature surely we have the

devide between two sets of planets. But the whole of Astrology is not built on

Planets alone. Why do we ommit to take into significance of other sevaral aspects

of signs, bhavas and houses.Sumtotal of these is also seen in the lagna itself

and other angles of the native chart. If we have to decipher let us be holistib

in our approach without bringing the God into our discussions and hold the the

native/individual for all good and bad he gets.Look into thestrength of

Dharma,Artha,Kama and Moksha aspects of the chart and how these traits of life

are meant for anyone?
