Guest guest
Hello All, I want to know that since we all are the priviledged ones to be born to good parents, raised in good households with education and wealth what can we do to help others that are not so lucky as we all are. I am extremely disturbed from time to time when I see poverty and crime caused due to that. Just a yesterday i saw yet another heart rendering documentary about the plight of the young girls sold due to poverty and the horrible life they live in brothels. How they live the most painful life and die due to diseases even before they reach the age of 20 leaving behind children who are also HIV infected and would die soon. It is not for ourselves always that we should look for remedies. Since I am bound by social and personal obligations to not shun my obligations and go and help those in need. Is there a way I can perform some kind of remedy to help reduce the suffering in this world. I can pray I know, but to be honest after a few days I will start praying for myself and my family but I will forget to include the under priviledged ones , and when I do I don't know if it is making any difference. Hope some of you can relate to me and understand where my request for a remedy of this type is stemming from. Thanks
Guest guest
Hello Rinku: Began donating to NGOs that rescue young girls from brothels. This problem, especially in Bombay, is out of control and gut-wrentching. Girls used to be brough/bought from Nepal. These days girls as young as 12 are being bought/brought from almost every poor part of India. The economic boom that the "educated class" in India is experiencing hasn't reached the masses at all. And some communities, especially in North-East India, and communities along the Bangladesh border are openly and regularly selling their daughters (even pre-pubescent). I've been donating, whatever little I can, for rescuing young girls from Bombay brothels so I know a little bit about what's going on there. What needs to be done is establishment of a massive manufacturing infrastructure on the scale of China, or even larger, all over India, which in turn will provide employment and remove the abject poverty. However, this can't be done without significant government support and participation. Well, goverment support and participation is unlikely for the next 5- 10 years as the Congress government is too busy cheating and bilking the state treasury and the corporate as well as individual citizens. I feel India is Karmically cursed. It is sad that the people of India removed the "few good men" of BJP who could've helped India turn into China and replaced them with Congressi crooks who'll ruin India. For the first time in 6 years, I was agressively and repeatedly hasseled for a bribe at the Bombay International airport, despite being a foreigner. I pity the plight of the Indian citizens. I inquired why was there this "about-turn" in the attitude of Customs official and I was told that they had orders to collect bribes of Rs. 10 crores per month for the minister in charge of Excise. Rinku, it is nice that along side the crooks and savages are people like you who're sensitive to the plight of the poor and the less- fortunate. Do what you can within your means for the ones who're suffering. I'll build up your karmic reserves.
