Guest guest
Dear ALL, SUB: Discrepancy in MahaMrityunjayaMantra(MMM)? This is a wonderful example to prove the necessity of proper study of a MANTRA. In MMM, the lines which one feels different from other texts, is ACTUALLY THE SAME! "...Urvaarukamiva bandhananmrityormuksheeya....." when split looks like this(ie in Vedic PADA PAATHA): ......Urvaarukam iva BANDHANAAT mrityoh muksheeya..... BANDHANAAT + MRUTYOH = BANDHANAANMRUTYOH -> ANUNAASIKA SANDHI. It is simple Sanskrit grammar saying T + M = NM in pronunciation. So, in mantra, it has become bandhaNAAN in vedic SAMHITAA PAATHA, but actually is bandhaNAAT in Vedic PADA PAATHA. So if you are pronouncing faster continuously, it is BANDHANAAN or if you pronounce slowly in PADA style, it is BANDHANAAT. BOTH ARE CORRECT! If it is for Japa, use the fast style as per RIGVEDA and for HOMA or YAJNA, it is slower as per YAJURVEDIC style. Sometimes depends on the school of study too. Perhaps now some may understand WHY I stress all to know A to Z of Mantras. Simply complaining about not getting results or about BACK- FIRING(!) is of no use unless one KNOWS everything about what he/she does. There are some hurdles for many mantras - even after doing japa for 9 lakh times siddhi would not be there(not MMM) as Lord Shiva says NAVALAKSHAM PRAJAPTVAAPI TASYA VIDYAA NA SIDHYATI..! So let us try to know more about what we are doing than simply following blindly. LASTBIT of grammar: In SHAD's message, translation is BANDHANAAN (accusative case of noun - dwiteeya vibhakti) but actually it is BANDHANAAT(Ablative case - panchami vibhakti) in tone with Mrityoh (abl case). yours humbly, KAD , pankaj sharma <astrologerpankaj> wrote: > > > Neeraj Gupta <gupta_neeraj_2000> wrote:~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ > > Dear Bharat, > > It is "Bandhnaan" and not "bandhanat", i have several > books on mantra shastra, also it is given bandhnaan in > shiva purana. > > I am doing this mantra for over a year or so. > > Their might be mistake in the cassette. > > Regards, > > Neeraj > --- Tanvir <ultimate@s...> wrote: > > > To the best of my knowledge, it is "Bandhanan".
