Dear Maniv:

 

Catching up on old emails, today....

 

 

What are the key planets that cause bad habits/ vices - indulgences

in alcohol, drugs etc?

 

This is a very good question.

 

Basically, any planets that corresponds with any 'malefic' situation, has

the potential of being a weakness, or causing a bad habit, etc.

 

Also, Planets that rule, the primary houses of health & ill-health(6th), and

life-span, & chronic habits(8th) house... are also very suspect.....

 

Then of course, one needs to look at the 2nd house of food, or in-take,...to

see even poisons...

 

Though of course Rahu, Ketu and Saturn are also very often symbolic of

excesses....

I assume a weak Saturn/Rahu/Ketu and strong negative 2nd house

influence in the chart with these planets being linked to the 1/2nd

lord and some association with the 8/12th house.............

Dear Mark:

 

Do they manifest their habits in their dasha or is it general

behaviour. For example when we see somebody starting smoking it

happens in their teens and not when older say 30. So i would say these

malefic planets show their effect as general characteristic of a

person than on dasha. however if we have some positive influence of

dasha or transit we do give up these habits. Just a thought.
