Bharat ji,

Your friend's Lagna is Tula and Chandra Lagna is Kanya. As you

say, Guru is at the edge of the sign, and can therefore be

pronounced to be "weak." However, there are these other factors:

* Guru is Vargotamma, and this adds considerably to his

strength.

* His Ishta Phala is 29.4 and Kashta Phala is only 7.9, and so

he will give good results.

* Guru is uccha in the 10th house, and this gives your friend

Hamsa Yoga.

* Guru's Vimshopak in Shad Varga is impossibly high at 19.50 out

of 20. This should also help tremendously.

* Guru is with Surya, but Surya is quite far away, and so Guru

is not combust. He is not afflicted by any other Graha.

* Guru's dispositor Chandra is in his own house in Navamsa with

Guru, and in the Rasi, though he is with Rahu, Sukra and Kuja,

is not close enough to be afflicted by any of them. His

closeness to Kuja actually gives Chandra Mangala Yoga. Chandra

is strong from Sukla Ekadasi to Krishna Panchami, and since your

friend was born on a Sukla Panchami, Chandra can be pronounced

to be of medium strength.

This means that Guru's Dasa will be quite good for him. Guru

Dasa is generally good for almost everybody because one always

passes through Rahu Dasa before getting to Guru Dasa. Tell your

friend to enjoy!

However, one has to consider the whole chart before pronouncing

on anything. Here are some disturbing factors:

* Sani and Budha are involved in a Graha Yudda. Budha loses, but

even the victor in a Graha Yudda loses something.

* Sukra is neecha in rasi, but uccha in Navamsa, and this gives

Neecha Banga. However, Sukra is afflicted by Rahu and Kuja, who

are lesss than 4 & 2 degrees away respectively.

* From Lagna, Sukra, Sani, and Budha are lords of 1, 5, and 9

respectively. From Chandra Lagna, they are lords of 9, 5, and 1

respectively. The affliction of these important grahas, who play

an important part in his life, will mean that Guru Dasa, while

good in itself, will be "dragged down" by these limiting

factors.

* Sani and Budha are subject to Papa Katari Yoga by Rahu and

Surya, and this will act further to limit their performance

potential.

Don't get too negative about the above factors. I am

illustrating them to show you both sides of the coin. Tell your

friend to enjoy Guru Dasa, but also to be cautious concerning

the above factors.

The figure may be zero, but SBC should be read along with the

Birth Chart and Dasa Bukti, so this is not very alarming. The

Tithi is afflicted by Kuja and the Day by Kuja and Sani, but

since these two are protected by Guru, there is no danger.Surya

afflicts Lagna, but is contained to an extent by Budha.

The Janma Nakshtra (1) is protected by Guru from Kuja's

affliction, but Rahu afflicts both the Sanghtaic Nakshtra (16)

and the Raj Nakshatra (26). The former causes lack of unity and

harmony, while the latter prohibits one from rising.

Furtunately, Sukra too casts his gaze on the Sanghtaic Nakshtra

(16), and this could provide some short-term relief. Sukra is

also protecting the Vinash Nakshtra (23), which guards from

destruction. However, Rahu and Ketu together afflict the Adhana

Nakshatra (19), which is almost on a par with the Janma Nakshtra

(1). Sani also afflicts Abhishek Nakshatra (27), and this means

that he cannot enjoy the fruits of his efforts. Tell your friend

to be patient and pray to God.
