Basic debriefing principle followed in all research involving human subjects. Another related point is a certain awareness of the power relationship. Astrologers hold great power over their subjects, but most of the time they exercise it in a way similar to doctors/teachers of yesteryears. A kind of paternalistic practice. Current theory in teaching/medicine advocate a role that is more mindful of the power relationship. In some ways, this is implied in Tanvir's point against pronouncements ('you will die' etc.). I think Balaji's way of doing it (explaining why such and such obtains) is very good, a very participatory style. Ram ~!
