Guest guest
Dear Friend, I don't see any explanation in Sanskrit grammar describing RAHU as RA + HU and KETU as KA + ITI + U (which is no Sandhi or Samasa as I know). I would be very eager to know the "AUTHENTIC SOURCE" where it is described so. If RAHU = RA + HU what is the root or dhatu of RA? and HU is not derived from root HAN(to kill) as it is usually from root JUH(to sacrifice). I am very EAGER to know which form of root HAN is HU? RAHU according most sanskrit dictionaries means 'the SEIZER' or 'to ABANDON', which also means A RIDER according to a few. If KETU = KA + ITI + U , it never makes sense grammatically. If KA is intelligence(I really never came across that word in this meaning) and ITI is end(again abrupt!) what is the meaning of 'U' the last letter? Is it famous U of Uma? U of AUM? I am very eager to know it! KETU according to most works means THE FLAG, astrologically one whose MANDALA or the field is like a FLAG or the introvert quadrilateral :-D If I am wrong, please correct me by giving the source of your expalnation. If it is PANINI's Ashtadhyaayi, I am really EAGER to know the relevent Sutra. yours humbly, KAD , "Tutu" <omkrishnaguru> wrote: > Dear friend, > > The word Rahu comprises two root words > Ra + Hu > Ra = The spiritual fire, truthfulness, knowledge > "Hu" is a derivative of "Han" dhatu in Sanskrit Language meaning > which kills or destroys > which takes away us from the path of knowledge and get us involved > in the trap of material pleasure and finnally taking away all that > has been given to us and causing pain at the end > > Ketu= > Ka + Iti+U > > 'Ka' meaning our brain/ head/ intelligence the power to think and > analyse > 'Ka'= also means the essence of our being the unattached soul > 'Iti'= means and end or death or diminishing > So Ketu reduces our intelligence, forces us to commit involuntary > error and thereby causing us to suffer, and drawing us nearer and > nearer to understanding the basic meaning/purpose of our life and > birth. > > For example in may chart Ketu is close to 2nd cusp and 2nd lord, I > will not be able to amass much wealth during this life. > > Another example: > for a Leo Lagna chart Rahu in Scorpio (4th house) is within one > degree difference from 12lord Moon > thereby denying the happiness of 12th house (bed pleasure, sound > sleep)and Happiness from family life(4th-Kutumba Sukha) > In all these matters Rahu had created the ILLUSION of offering all > the benefits of a happy married and family life, but it gave none as > promised.
