Rahu and Ketu

Dear List,

I want to know the effects of Rahu and Ketu - What are the effects

if Rahu and Ketu placed in different houses - and different cojunctions

with other planets. What effects it causes on aspects-etc..

I could'nt get any notes on that - If somebody has some notes on that

or know about these things can you please post it, so that learners can

be enlighted.

The word Rahu comprises two root words

Ra + Hu

Ra = The spiritual fire, truthfulness, knowledge

"Hu" is a derivative of "Han" dhatu in Sanskrit Language meaning

which kills or destroys

which takes away us from the path of knowledge and get us involved

in the trap of material pleasure and finnally taking away all that

has been given to us and causing pain at the end

 

Ketu=

Ka + Iti+U

 

'Ka' meaning our brain/ head/ intelligence the power to think and

analyse

'Ka'= also means the essence of our being the unattached soul

'Iti'= means and end or death or diminishing

So Ketu reduces our intelligence, forces us to commit involuntary

error and thereby causing us to suffer,and drawing us nearer and

nearer to understanding the basic meaning/purpose of our life and

birth.

 

For example in may chart Ketu is close to 2nd cusp and 2nd lord, I

will not be able to amass much wealth during this life.

 

Another example:

for a Leo Lagna chart Rahu in Scorpio (4th house) is within one

degree difference from 12lord Moon

thereby denying the happiness of 12th house (bed pleasure, sound

sleep)and Happiness from family life(4th-Kutumba Sukha)

In all these matters Rahu had created the ILLUSION of offering all

the benefits of a happy married and family life, but it gave none as

promised. By the way Rahu is 'demon' as per Indian Epics, he never

keeps his promises but always deceives us.
