Vikram,

Excuse me for intercepting. I have without success, requested

information/research/input charts with exalted retro's on this board

with little response so this chart is of great interest to me as the

chart has an exalted but retrograde Mercury the 11th house, conjunct

The Sun (10th Lord) giving rise to a powerful Budhi-Aditya Yoga and

is aspected by Vargottama Jupiter in own sign from the 5th house. I

realize that Mercury is slightly blemished by its lordship of the 8th

house and the aspect from Saturn and there are strong indications for

depression/challenges in life (Rahu conjunct Moon, aspected by Ketu)

and ascendant lord in 8th house. However I am more interested in the

effects of the exalted but retrograde Mercury in this chart.

I ahev the following queries:

Is the individual intellectual, possessing sound academic

qualifications?

Has she had good success in her career?

Does she possess sharp communication skills?

Is she financially well-off?

Feedback regarding these points would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Dear Maniv,

Thanks for your response. In response to your questions, yes she is

very intellectual, is pursuing a PhD presently, and has always been

academically bright. She hasn't really had a fulltime career yet since

she is still finishing her education. She does possess excellent

communication skills and a flair for language. She has changed career

paths after her bachelors degree. Financially she is well to do - on a

full research assistantship presently, and her family is also

well-off. I hope this corroborates your research on the subject.

Regards,

Vikram.

Thank you for your feedback.

With the general assumption being that exalted retrograde planets

behave as if they are debilitated, it is interesting that this chart

suggests otherwise.

The native possesses all the attributes of Budhi-Aditya and Bhadra

Yoga described in the classics, which seem to be intensified by the

retrograde status of Mercury. Yes, there is the benevolent aspect of

Jupiter helping this combination, but Saturn also aspects and

Mercury is the 8th Lord. It seems the retrograde status has

expanded the power of the exaltation of Mercury rather then vice-

versa.

Of course it would be amateurish to make conclusions about exalted

retrograde planets on the basis of just one chart so analysis on

this chart and input on this subject from others would be

appreciated.

I would be interested in viewing other charts with exalted

retrograde planets, so please contact me through this board or email

if you have the details of any such charts that you wish to share.

Maybe together we can shed some light on this shady area of

Astrology.
