Durga chalisa......what are the rules

hi,

i am chanting the durga chalisa on a daily basis. someone told

me that if you do the durga chalisa wrong, there can be negative

effects. can someone tell me what are the rules for an unmarried

female chanting the durga chalisa daily. i already know about the

rule about menses. is there anything else. i just assumed that if

you chant with true devotion and pureness of heart, then it

shouldn't have negative effects. please give me some insight.

dear renu,

u r right when u say that purity is the foremost criteria when u r devotional,as

far as durga chalisa is concerned it is not a full devi paath so u shud not be

concerned much,it is true that the devi's puja is a very austere thing and it

has to be done with a lot of care,but durga chalisa is a different thing all

together,chaalisas are made for common men to be practised in normal

circumstances so don't worry.just be pure at heart when chanting it.
