Respected Gurus,

I am an avid learner of vedic astrology and ahve some

queries pertaining to it.

Query 1---I am very confused about the fact that Mecury has been

classified as a neutral for Gemini ascendant & a funtional benefic

for Virgo ascendant by the sage. Now what is the reason behind this?

Shouldnt it be benefic for both the ascendants since it rules the

ascendant(which is a kona & kendra ) as well a kendra?please throw

some light on this query?

Queyr 2-- Does the aspect of 9th lord on 10th house and 10th lord on

9th house constitute the famous Dharma Karmadhipati yoga?

Waiting eagerly for views.....

Kind Regards,

Hamendra.

Please try to find out from classics the relative strengths of the

kendras. Not all kendras are equally strong. Then take into account

the adage that a benefic that owns a kendra cannot fully deliver its

beneficience (this has been (mis)interpreted by some as benefics

ruling kendras are malefics! Anyways, ponder on these two factors

and the reasoning behing your Q1 will begin to make sense.

The answer to your Q2 lies in a study of sudarshan charts towards

the end of BPHS.

Mind you! The above are what will lead you to the so called

reasoning, provided what is given in classics does bear the

testimony of experienced truth. for that you would have to test the

adages in real horoscopes and then you can make up your mind. Just

because something is stated in an impressive looking, yellowing, dog-

eared tome or tomes does not necessarily mean it would be

unconditionally true!

hi to all gurus

this is my practical experience that mercury is not

benefic ( infact mild malefic ) for the virgo and

gemini ascendants ...although parashara has mentioned

it to be a benefic for virgo and neutral for gemini.
