He is a very ordinary man, he has no knowledge of anything but he gets everything from Lord Rama. He was also inspired by Lord Rama to learn astrology so that he can help people. Lord Rama has given him the power to adjust the five elements [Pancha Tatwa] in human body by which he solves problems and sees happiness in people's face. Because the reason for problem is a lack of balance of these five elements in a creature. So he solves this and solves the problems.
