Rohini ji,

The percentages were suggested to me by somebody who has 40

years of experience. The said individual is also humble,

helpful, and was not dropped on his head when a little boy,

which, one understands even without statistical analysis, can

lead to an odd fetish for figures, not to mention a cranky and

rude disposition.

Experience is a great thing but numbers and percentages should not

be bandied about loosely. You may want to call it a fetish or

whatever, but that is a lesser evil than pseudo-statistical number

dropping.

Regarding being dropped on the head as a baby, from what I have heard,

that can cause severe damage to intellect and generally produces an

individual who would accept anything and everything and hosts a happy

but silly grin all the time and never questions anything. The clinical

picture you describe for the head-drop syndrome does not fit the bill

:-)

But seriously, since neither of us were dropped on our heads as

babies, how the heck can someone gauge the relative proportion of how

much is technique/technical, how much is art and how much is that

innate ability (genetic, deific or whatever). And it would vary from

person to person so much that such statistics even though obviously

wild guesstimates are simply going to be useless. Perhaps should be

restated: astrology is part technical/logical, part art and partly

depends on natural abilities (including natural selection, genes,

environment and Grace of God).
