12th house question for astrologers

Hello. I'd like to share some ideas I have about the 12th and get

some feedback on what others think.

I'm trying to develop ideas which can be used in chart interpretation

that go beyond the traditional ones (sleep, pleasures of the bed,

expenses) b/c I believe (perhaps wrongly) that there are more

insightful definitions for the 12th.

As the opposite of the 6th-

while the 6th is anxious, dejected, careful and self-critical,

the 12th is careless (impractical, extravagant and wasteful- as in

dissipation, intoxication), un-self-conscious (loss of sense of self,

inability to 'see' the self) and, consequently, un-self-critical

(unable to see one's own flaws). Does this sound correct?

I know quite a few people with 12th house influences and they all

seem to have a certain quality of carelessness about them

(a 'whatever' attitude). I've also noticed they have a tendency to

find fault with, i.e. complain about, others and about society,

while, at the same time, they rarely find fault with themselves. Has

anyone else noticed this? Or, is this maybe another influence that

I'm incorrectly attributing to the 12th?

On another note, most of these people are frequently tired and worn

out which fits the 12th house theme of loss of vitality and sleep.

Yet, with regard to this, I've noticed a strange preponderance of

12th house influences in the charts of successful athletes which I

can't make any sense of. Unless, the aspects to the 6th help them

to 'defeat opponents'. I've also thought maybe the 12th can somehow

indicate pushing physical limits, or maybe its presence gives the

ability to put in the long, 'lonely' hours of training needed to be a

professional athlete. Anyone else noticed this? Or, have any ideas

about what it means?

One last odd note that concerns me about the traditional definitions,

while I know that a 12th house influence needs supporting factors

(Ketu, Jupiter, Saturn, 9th house) to bring out the spiritual aspect

of the house, I've never met a person with a 12th house influence who

considered themselves as spiritual. Do others notice this as well?

Thank you for reading and thank you sincerely for any responses.
