Question regarding Vedic and Western Astrology

Hi,

My sun sign is Leo. However, my birthchart shows my surya is in

cancer and my moon in aquarius. Is this possible? What do i

consider myself then-cancer or leo?

I identify more with Leo sunsign.

Also if I chart my horoscope using western astrology, my moon is in

pisces..im in a dilemma..pls suggest.

I had posted another q before..but never got an ans. Pls tell me

what houses indicate love/arrranged and intercaste/interreligion

marriage in a natives horoscope.

western astrology uses the tropical zodiac. In this, the first point

of aries begins with sun's position on the vernal equinox. The 360

degrees therefrom are then divided into 12 signs. The sidereal

zodiac is approximately 23 degrees behind the tropical zodiac and

therefore while your surya is in karaka, your sun is in leo.

 

It is wise not to mix the two systems as the rules etc naturally

will vary. Western astrology ues midpoints and aspects heavily;

these considerations are precession or ayanamsha free and hence can

probably be utilized in both the sidereal or tropical system, as

long as you dont mix the rules.
