Guest guest
meri taraf se shab mahagyaniyon ko pranam. I am very much new to this field. My question is what is the actual meaning of the word "ROTROGATE"? is it only the reserse movement of a planet? Or is is the time when a straight line drawn from the earth toward orbit of any planet and when the planet just touches its orbit and when during its revolution it is visible from the earth life that the speed seems to be static at that very moment that is why the word regtrogation is termed? I want to know its effect in human life if somebody have a retro plant in his/her birth chart.
Guest guest
The term is retrograde (as opposed to anterograde or direct as it is called in astrology). No planet actually moves backward, it is just the perspective from earth that makes it seem go backwards and the mechanism differs between inner and outer planets. All of this technical stuff has been covered in a message earlier by me here, elsewhere and also there is an article on www.boloji.com/astro which you may wish to read. Finally, please stay away from the temptation of finding a chapter or table which will correctly define the role of a retrograde planet by itself. In a horoscope this pure effect is modified, modulated by many other factors often resulting in your not finding the pure effect of retrogression or other attributes as described in books showing up in real lives of natives. These 'pure' islands of effects are difficult to prove too unless a lot of assumptions are made. Finding the pure effect of a planet or factor in a life is almost like trying to tune into the taste contributed by a given subtle ingredient in a properly blended and cooked food. If an ingredient becomes too obvious or overpowering (like too much salt in food), the life becomes unbalanced and too skewed. In most charts of regular people, the imbalance is not too strong and hence it is best to get used to the subtlity of astrofactors in regular charts.
