Guest guest
Dear All, Namaste. I would like to seek your opinions and clarifications on the following. Thanks a lot in advance. 1. Is it true that Rahu Dasa/Venus Sub-Dasa is generally bad regardless of the natal positions of these two planets? Specifically, how is it for Libra Lagna with Venus in Libra(Lagna) and Rahu in Cancer (10th)? Does Venus possess maraka power being the lord of 8th in addition to being Lagna Lord? 2. Jupiter in the 9th from natal moon (in Gochara) is said to be generally good (at least fair) regardless of other considerations. But under what circumstances does Jupiter becomes completely defunct so as not to give any benefit at all during the transit? 3. Saturn is the yogakaraka for Libra Lagna (being the lord of 4th and 5th). What are the typical effects of Saturn's transit in 7th and 8th from natal moon in this case? How is it different when Saturn is in his own house (4th - Capricorn)? 4. Lastly reg. Jupiter/Saturn transits - will the good/bad results of the transit modify according to the house/bhava it transits from the natal Lagna and/or natal moon. To illustrate using the same case above, the oncoming transits of Saturn/Jupiter are into the 10th house from natal Lagna and natal moon respectively. Does it mean that the transit will have greater significance with respect to profession/career/karma? Thanks a lot in advance, Muralidharan(Murali)

Guest guest
Dear Sri. Gaurav, Namaste and Thanks. Though the questions were relating to my horoscope, my queries were more relating to enhancing my primitive knowledge of Astrology. Thank you very much indeed for any inputs in this regard. Date of Birth : 28-Dec-1962 Time of Birth : 2.35 AM Place of Birth : Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India (78 E 7, 9 N 56) The following is one version I got - apparently cast using Lahiri Ayanamsa using and Parashara Light software : Rasi Libra (1) - Lagna, Venus Sagittarius (3) - Sun, Moon, Mercury Capricorn(4) - Saturn, Ketu Aquarius (5) - Jupiter Cancer (10) - Rahu Leo (11) - Mars® Navamsa Aquarius (1) - Lagna, Jupiter(Vargottama), Ketu Aries (3) - Mars Taurus (4) - Saturn Gemini(5) - Venus Cancer (6) - Sun Leo (7) - Rahu Scorpio (10) - Moon Sagittarius (11) - Mercury (Vargottama) Thanks & Regards, Murali , "Gaurav Sharma" <gauravkom> wrote: > Hello Murali, > Why not post the birth data? > > Gaurav > > , "kmurali_sg" > <kmurali_sg> wrote: > > Dear All, > > > > Namaste. Guest guest
Hello Muraliji, I will post my reply tomorrow but there is a lot of stress on transits from natal moon in your queries. When speaking about transits they should also be observed in divisional charts to infer anything about career/profession/karma. Venus is a lord of a trine(1 house) in Libra hence it will not be malefic, moreover Venus in is own sign in or in exaltation, and in a kendra or trikona house gives Malavaya yoga. Maraka houses are 2 and 7, not 8. Gaurav , "kmurali_sg" <kmurali_sg> wrote: > Dear Sri. Gaurav, > > Namaste and Thanks. Guest guest
Dear Sri. Gauravji, Namaste and thanks indeed. I think it would be appropriate if I add a couple of information on my queries. 1. My professional troubles started in April 2002, and I lost the job in June 2003 for reasons not relating to performance. This happened in Rahu/Venus period (according to one calculation using Lahiri Ayanamsa). Most of my career growth has been in Rahu dasa so I am wondering why Venus, the Malavya Yoga kara, would kill the livelihood. 2. The premise of my queries on Gochara are : a. In June 2003, Saturn was in the bad 7th but Saturn is my yogakaraka in own house in a quadrant. My doubt is will Saturn, in spite of all the above, will cause this? b. Jupiter, in a trine & vargottama in my chart, was about to move into the most favorable 9th when this happened. Further, Jupiter's 9th transit has been completely defunct in my case. I am puzzled by these. c. Now that Saturn and Jupiter are about to move to 8th and 10th to my natal moon shortly - both considered to be adverse - what will be the effect - especially they transit into the 10th houses from Lagna and sun/moon respecively? Thank you very much indeed for helping to analyze my chart. Guest guest
Hello Muraliji, I have seen your chart and some of the questions that you asked before are given below 1. - The Rahu Dasa depends upon the position of Rahu and the aspects Rahu gets from different planets in the chart. Same holds good for any other planet Antardasha. Now Rahu in cancer(a sign of Moon) is not good. As Rahu considers Moon as its enemy and placement of the such a position means troubles during the Dasha period. Think of a scenario where someone tells you to stay at your`s enemys house instead of your own house. Placement in the 10 house means issues related to the 10 house. Now Venus in Lagna is good but the question is, it is good for what signifactors? Hence the answer is Venus is Good for significators associated with that particular house. So if i say that Venus is in its own sign but the question remains in which house and should it be read for results related to another house which has a different meaning? Many a times we do consider 8 house possessing a maraka power but Maraka Sthanas in a horoscope are 2 and 7, not 8. 2. Jupiter in the 9th from natal moon (in Gochara) is said to be generally good (at least fair) regardless of other considerations. But under what circumstances does Jupiter becomes completely defunct so as not to give any benefit at all during the transit? -Jupiter in 9th from natal moon is good but for in what terms? Moon represents mind, transit of Jupiter(knowledge) and being 9(Dharma) from natal moon means that knowledge of mind is increased in matters related to Dharma(spirtuality). We should not equate career with such a transit. 3. Saturn is the yogakaraka for Libra Lagna (being the lord of 4th and 5th). What are the typical effects of Saturn's transit in 7th and 8th from natal moon in this case? How is it different when Saturn is in his own house (4th - Capricorn)? - One of the foremost things we should understand that a planet being a yogakaraka is likely to give results(benefical) in the Mahadasha (first), Antardasha(second) and PD(third). Saturn`s movement in the 4th, 7th and the 10th is known as Kantaka Sani. Here again the transit is considered with respect to Moon(mind). Though considered malefic, Saturn is known to give very positive results, while transiting the third, sixth and eleventh houses. Saturn in its own house means that it is strong but results of houses it aspects will still remain there. More importantly the planets(malefic or benefic) from Saturn is getting an aspect also should be considered. 4. - Yes, the transits results will depend upon the house/bhava but as you have considered from two aspects, from Lagna(self) and natal Moon (mind) the results have to read separately. To judge complete significance for profession/career/karma the transits also needs to considered on varga charts(d-10 in this case). 5. - Any planet forming a yoga should be considered for other aspects also. Venus although in a yoga gets an aspect from Rahu(in sign of Moon),Ketu and Saturn(in its own sign in a quad-another yoga Shasya yoga makes one strict but again depends on the MD/AD/PD/house/bhava). Now here again as mentioned earlier Venus is in the natal Lagna and the yoga is not powerful as Saturn delays the fruits and Ketu(in 4 house for which Moon is significator) also helps. Moreover Malavya yoga should be judged for strength and also the house it happens. It is not over 10 and hence should not be assocaited with livelihood. 6. - I have already told you about Kantaka Shani. - Jupiter transit also has been explained with respect to Moon over 9 house. Jupiter in a trine but how much role he is playing for 10 house signifactors. Is he the lord, is he in the 10, is he aspecting it? - Movement in the eighth house as Ashtama Sani as told before Saturn is known to give very positive results, while transiting the third, sixth and eleventh houses. Favorable placements for Transit Jupiter from Natal Moon is 2,5,7,9,11 from moon but the meaning has to read separately. Jupiter transit over 10 from natal lagna is considered good. I think seeing your Dasamasa chart you also require what is known as Birth Time Rectification. You can consult a local astrologer who is expert in doing it. Once that is done some remedies can be suggested. Gaurav , "kmurali_sg" <kmurali_sg> wrote: > Dear Sri. Gauravji, > > Namaste and thanks indeed. Guest guest
Dear Shri. Gauravji, Namaste and thanks indeed for the detailed analysis and inputs. 1. Your observation about Jupiter's transit over 9th from Moon leading to spirituality/dharma - it is very correct. 2. With respect to Saturn, I understand that it will delay fruits being in the 4th. Further with respect to transits, I gather that both 7th transit (Khanta Sani) and 8th transit (Ashtama Sani) are bad. But I get conflicting opinion on which is worse. Many say 8th transit is not that bad compared to 7th. I would appreciate your views on the same. 3. With respect to D-10 chart, though I don't know much, I did some preliminary analysis and I don't see any major problems. Lagna, 10th Lord, 10th occupant Rahu seem to be well placed. (Aries - Lagna/Sun, Gemini(3) - Rahu, Cancer (4) - Venus, Jupiter, Leo (5) - Moon, Mars®, Virgo(6) - Mercury, Sagittarius (9) - Ketu, Aquarius(11) - Saturn) Thank you very much once again, With warmest regards, Murali , "Gaurav Sharma" <gauravkom> wrote: > Hello Muraliji, > I have seen your chart and some of the questions that > you asked before are given below > > 1. Guest guest
Hello Muraliji, An interesting question. - Many say 8th transit is not that bad compared to 7th. In simple terms transit of Saturn from moon(mind) over the 7(spouse) will result in difference of opinion in married life as well in any partnerships(7 house). In your case the Saturn has got stronger (Shasya yoga makes it strict and disciplined). Hence when mind is disturbed from activites pertaining to domestic sphere it also effects the house opposite to it(Lagna). Once Lagna(self) is effected indeed the results are not good. Henceforth the results compared with 8 transit will seem bad. I hope you do understand. I never said that your D-10 is having any problems(did i?) but i have given an advice. It is upto you to decide. Gaurav , "kmurali_sg" <kmurali_sg> wrote: > Dear Shri. Gauravji, > > Namaste and thanks indeed for the detailed analysis and inputs. > > 1. Guest guest
Dear gaurav, Could you explain me how can one intrepret the saturn's transit in 8 in the following case...as i am having conflicting views within myself. Ascendent (Lagna)...I House... Aquarius...saturn, mercury, mars, surya Second house and third house --nil Fourth house - Taurus - Guru and Rahu 5,6,7,8,9 houses - nil 10 house - Vrishchik - Ketu 11 house - saggitarius - Chandra (weak) 12 house - Venus Now for him the jupiter transit may not be favorable but i do have a conflicting view with in me telling that it may result in gain for him...especially on employment front...really cant explain how,,, the same way...the saturn transit in 8 from sep 06, 2004 being ashtama sani is not favorable...but here again i am conflicting within myself ...how can it will be bad for him...my view is saturn being his own lagna lord...and kendra athipathi...how can he harm the native being controlled so much by him...is it not there is something hidden in the uniqueness of chart... I have seen the native rising like phoneix bird everytime he falls due to the sakata yoga with great discipline...thanks to saturn but otherwise the native is highly educated...achieved great position in finance circles at young age itself... I have also seen so many divine miracles happening in his life...so before interpreting and telling, i need all the gurus advice in this,. Kindly advice me.... thanks sriganeshh , "Gaurav Sharma" <gauravkom> wrote: > Hello Muraliji, > An interesting question. > > - Many say 8th transit is not that bad compared to 7th. > > In simple terms transit of Saturn from moon(mind) over the 7 (spouse) > will result in difference of opinion in married life as well in any > partnerships(7 house). Guest guest
Dear Sri. Gauravji, Namaste. Thanks indeed for the clarifications. Kindly bear with me for a few more questions in this regard: 1. In my case, Saturn's transit over 7th (from natal moon) did not cause any noticeable issue in relationships but the only noticeable effect was sudden changes in my career - things got worse during the first one year or so of the transit finally resulting in job loss in June 2003. 2. I was advised a remedy to counter Saturn's transit influence - donating 1kg of Til oil to Hanuman Temple on 12 Saturdays after sunset. I completed the remedy in Oct 2003 and even performed Hanumat Mula mantra homam on Hanumat Jayanti day (Dec 23). I have no knowledge on validity of remedies but sadly there was no improvement at all. 3. Given that Saturn transit over 8th is considered to be bad (in spite of Saturn being my yogakaraka) - what are the likely effects on 8th transit? Especially with respect to my career? Is it likely to better worse or same with respect to 7th transit? 4. Another doubt with respect to your observation that Jupiter's transit over 9th is likely to see lot of things on spirituality, etc. - which in my case was true. By extension of same logic, could it also mean that Jupiter's transit over 10th is likely to have significant influence over career/karma? Thanks & Regards, Murali , "Gaurav Sharma" <gauravkom> wrote: > Hello Muraliji, > An interesting question. > > - Many say 8th transit is not that bad compared to 7th. > > In simple terms transit of Saturn from moon(mind) over the 7 (spouse) > will result in difference of opinion in married life as well in any > partnerships(7 house). Guest guest
Hello Murali ji, Let me first of all empasize on the thing that we do tend to relate something which may not signify that thing. - 1. In my case, Saturn's transit over 7th (from natal moon) did not cause any noticeable issue in relationships but the only noticeable effect was sudden changes in my career - things got worse during the first one year or so of the transit finally resulting in job loss in June 2003. 2. I was advised a remedy to counter Saturn's transit influence -donating 1kg of Til oil to Hanuman Temple on 12 Saturdays after sunset. I completed the remedy in Oct 2003 and even performed Hanumat Mula mantra homam on Hanumat Jayanti day (Dec 23). I have no knowledge on validity of remedies but sadly there was no improvement at all. There was no issue relating to 7 house(spouse) during that period itself is a mirror that the remedy worked. We often tend to look for any noticable changes but tend to forget that the remedies effect will also be there. Maybe next time you can do a small test, wait and watch to see what happens when you dont do the remedy(and dont link a 7th transit with career, although it may relate to patnerships). If i have to find a reason i can find it without indulging into transits also. I hope you do comprehend the meaning of improvement after doing the remedy should pertain to a sphere only. - 3. Given that Saturn transit over 8th is considered to be bad (in spite of Saturn being my yogakaraka) - what are the likely effects on 8th transit? Especially with respect to my career? Is it likely to better worse or same with respect to 7th transit? Not good. Saturn transit over 10 maybe linked to career(but shall we link 8th transit also?). Comparsion of 7 with 8 transit is not important, as you also did a remedy during 7th transit. - 4. Another doubt with respect to your observation that Jupiter's transit over 9th is likely to see lot of things on spirituality, etc. - which in my case was true. By extension of same logic, could it also mean that Jupiter's transit over 10th is likely to have significant influence over career/karma? I would say it will be ok. Extension of same logic is more suitable for houses where Jupiter plays an important role as a Naisargika karaka. Gaurav , "kmurali_sg" <kmurali_sg> wrote: > Dear Sri. Gauravji, > > Namaste. Guest guest
Dear Sri. Gauravji, Namaste and thank you very much indeed. Please bear with me for a just a couple of more queries to clear my ignorance. 1. I am not quite sure whether I clearly understood the the real contributing factor for my job loss in June 2003 - Was it due to Rahu/Venus period operating or Saturn's transit in the 7th or Jupiter in the 8th or a combination of these or something else. I am curious because, as discussed, Saturn/Jupiter transits are not very much relating to my 10th. 2. Thank you very much indeed for the note on effect of remedy applicable to specific spheres only. I learnt something important. 3. Saturn's 8th transit being bad - given my case, will Saturn (continue to) block/deny getting a job/livelihood? Do you advise any further remedy in this regard? (Note : Rahu/Venus/Mercury dasa starts in Sept 2004). 4. In general, will Saturn's transit in 7th/8th suck out one of energy, grit, motivation and self-confidence? Thank you very much indeed. With warmest regards, Murali , "Gaurav Sharma" <gauravkom> wrote: > Hello Murali ji, > Let me first of all empasize on the thing that we do > tend to relate something which may not signify that thing. > > - 1. Guest guest
Hello Murali ji, - 1. First of all, we often tend to brood over the past and tend to explore things in a manner where our present gets neglected. It is more important that you concentrate on the present and planning the future rather than past. You have the potential(from your chart) to gain knowledge of astrology. So take it as an excercise for your knowledge. I know that someday you will find the answer yourself. Hint:- When things become too complex or when you cant see what is there in front of you (as it is so close), then it is always better to close your eyes and start with simpler objects first. -2. Thank you very much indeed for the note on effect of remedy applicable to specific spheres only. I learnt something important. I am glad you did. - 3. Saturn's 8th transit being bad - given my case, will Saturn (continue to) block/deny getting a job/livelihood? Do you advise any further remedy in this regard? (Note : Rahu/Venus/Mercury dasa starts in Sept 2004). A possible remedy could be worship of God Sun everyday by using a suitable mantra(108 times morning at sunrise). Donate for Rahu on every saturday will also help. 4. In general, will Saturn's transit in 7th/8th suck out one of energy, grit, motivation and self-confidence? - If discussed in general, there are other factors also which should be considered when speaking about Saturn. Aspects from planets, conjuntions, placement of the planet, argalas, lordship, dashas (AD,PD) needs to be looked into to start with and one also needs to induldge in vargas later. But remedies done properly will negate the malefic effects if any. I hope you would have got all your answers(although i am intentionally leaving one as excercise to you). A small request from my side to you, just make one simple archana at any temple at Maa Laxmi's alter on my name for gurudakshina. Gaurav , "kmurali_sg" <kmurali_sg> wrote: > Dear Sri. Guest guest
Dear Sri. Gauravji, Namaste and thank you very much indeed for the answers/patience. My inputs below. Thanks & Regards, Murali , "Gaurav Sharma" <gauravkom> wrote: > Hello Murali ji, > > - 1. [Murali] - Thank you very much. Though I have been an enthusiast, I have not really started learning it seriously until recently. Your words motivate me to do further in this respect. > > -2. [Murali] I used to worship Sun intermittently (on Sundays and as part of Satyanarayana Puja I do on every Pournami) but I have started recently chanting Aditya Hrudayam + Suryashtakam daily. For Rahu, I was recently advised to donate a silver Naga idol to Lord Shiva shrine and donate milk for Abhishekam every Monday thereafter. I have been doing the same for several weeks. In addition, I have been doing Durga Puja in the evenings almost everyday - I do Shodasopacara puja on Deepa (Avahanam in 5-mukhi Deepam) followed by Durga Ashtottara Namavali Archana and chanting of Durga Kalpavriksha mantra (7-malas - as advised). If time is available, I also chant Durga Sahasranamam. I will start donating for Rahu as you have suggested. > > 4. I will definitely do the archana within this week. Incidentally, I also got a boon to partake in Lakshmi Laksharchana by sponsoring one Sahasranama archana. I am doing the same on July 30, Friday, on my Janma Nakshatra. I am also planning to offer to silk vastram + Lotus Mala. Thank you once again for the help. > Gaurav > > > > > , "kmurali_sg" > <kmurali_sg> wrote: > > Dear Sri. Gauravji, > > > > Namaste and thank you very much indeed.
