Dear Uday,

Some temples perform anusthaan of Maha Mrityunajaay

around 10-11 days before Maha Shiv Ratri. You can find

a temple near your place and can participate there.

There is a sankalpa done prior to pooja. As it is done

in group, so cost is shared among different devotees.

Also you can chant specific no. of malas as per your

time.

OM NAMAH SHIVAY...

Thankyou Neeraj ji & others too, for your prompt replies...

Well, Mahashivratri is too far off now, & i would like to know whether if an

individual person does the anushthan, then what are the rules & regulations,

(vidhi-nishedh), since it has to be done for goodself of somebody else. I would

be very grateful if i can get the info..

Thanking everybody once again..

Uday.

Dear Uday,

Generally, there is "Sankalpa" done before pooja, so

that Priests perform pooja on your behalf and you can

be present in pooja as per your wish. But my personal

belief is that one should do / recite the mantras by

himself, even if it takes long time. Some complicated

or difficult poojas can be done by a good Priest and

one should be present at the time of pooja being done.

As such for and individual, doing Maha Mrityunjay

Anusthaan demands resources both in terms of money as

well as time. If you are doing it on individual basis,

try to concentrate most of the time on lord shiva and

recite maha mrityunjay mantra as much as you can.

Generally it is done by Group of Priests say 11 who

will chant some calculated number of times mantra on

your behalf. The more the number of priests, the less

days it takes to complete the anusthaan. As in

Anusthaan, yagya also has to be done after chanting

mantra.
