Guest guest
How about focussing just on the first chart? And going deeper? First we need to look at each piece one pebble at a time and then see if there is a pattern. By deeper I mean not just one varga! And connect attributes to the significators like Om did by first stating that rahu is an indicator of computer programming. You may not find the concordance and symbolism in pithy texts but in that wonderful text-book of human experience and correlation! Without getting or subscribing to romantic concepts, think what a software programmer does, what are the tasks, what is his or her actual day like? And I don't mean the dream imagery described for the folks working for Microsoft. Maybe a real software engineer amongst the many here would first want to describe for us the typical day of a software programmer/engineer and then we can figure out which planet or planets really represents the spectrum of experiences that a software engineer really faces! Stay with reality lest you stray from reality! , "guru_paadam" <guru_paadam> wrote: > Dear RR, > > Here is my attempt: > > > > > +++++++++++++++ > > sex: F > > epoch: 17:30 > > day: 14 > > month: 9 > > year: 1974 > > place: Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India > > 10th house is Sc, with Rahu, in Jyeshtha, ruled by Mercury. > 10th lord Mars cojoins Mercury in Virgo. > > > +++++++++++++++ > > sex: female > > epoch: 03:15 > > day: 30 > > month: 4 > > year: 1966 > > place: Palghat, Kerala State, India > > +++++++++++++++ > > 10th house Sc, with Ketu in Visaaka, ruled by Jupiter. > Jupiter in Ge disposed by Mercury. > Jupiter in Ge and Mercury in Pi involve Parivarthana Yoga. > > > > sex: Male > > epoch: 4:30 > > day: 27 > > month: 3 > > year: 1968 > > place: PURI,ORISSA,INDIA > > +++++++++++++++++++++ > > 10th house again Sc, with none. > Then 10th lord, in Ar in Aswini disposed by Ketu, > Ketu disposed by Mercury in Virgo. > Saturn, karma karaka in Revati again disposed by Mercury. > > > > sex: MALE > > epoch: 01:55 > > day: 11 > > month: 3 > > year: 1974 > > place: SAHARANPUR, UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA > > latdeg: 029 > > latmin: 58 > > ns: N > > longdeg: 077 > > longmin: 23 > > ew: E > > +++++++++++++++++ > > I can't crack this one. 10th house is Virgo with Moon in Chitra, > disposed by Mars. > 10th Lord Mercury in Sata disposed by Mars. > Saturn in dhanishta again disposed by Mars. > > Another approach: > 10 House in Virgo with moon, disposed by Mercury. Guest guest
Okie.. First lets decide what a programmer would do and figure out the corresponding 'elements' in Jyothish. Among several things a SW engg: - solve a given requirement - design how a program should be written - write the actual program - test either his own or others program There are many posibilities, at a broad level, let me summarize that, someone with good problem solving, logical and reasoning abilities can make a software engineer. Can we agree on this ? , "rohiniranjan" <rrgb@s...> wrote: > How about focussing just on the first chart? And going deeper? Guest guest
Good start! I have also heard that Bill Gates and managerial types really get uptight about deadlines, so timeliness and time-management would be a desirable attribute! Although the sorry state of most new software (particularly jyotish software -- ARGGHHH!) indicates that they are not good at time management. =Technical knowledge and ability above all =Working on a piece of a project but not necessarily as an interactive team (like health care providers in an emergency room where if one member slips, the patient could die!) =time management (to appease the business types that sign your paycheck (pay cheque!) =analytical and synthetic abilities. How bits and pieces work and how they connect within the Big software picture =be able to take someone else's failure and piece together from that a new and improved product. Don't ask me for examples but this is something I had once seen to be claimed for one having a retrograde jupiter and I have seen it happen several times in my anecdotal experience. Wonderful, we are almost on the highway! RR , "guru_paadam" <guru_paadam> wrote: > Okie.. Guest guest
Thanks for the special note on the time management, Initially I thought this is important for everyone. But it wouldnt take much time to realize that this time management has special take on this particular industry, for this is the fastest and most dynamically changing field. Let me just regroup and list the attributes: 1. Tech Knowledge 2. Logical, Analytical and Synthetical ability 3. Time Management 4. Sustanance (this is what >90% of SW engineers do) and ability to improve. Now jumping to Jyothish: - The primary karaka for knowledge is Mercury, while Jupiter is for Wisdom. - The ability/inteligence is shown by 5th house/5th Lord. - Work/career is studied from 10th house/10th lord. - The primary karaka for 10th house is Saturn, while Jupiter, Sun and Mercury are other karakas. Can we agree on these ?, next we will study chart 1, ok? -GP. , "rohiniranjan" <rrgb@s...> wrote: > Good start! > I have also heard that Bill Gates and managerial types really get > uptight about deadlines, so timeliness and time-management would be > a desirable attribute! Guest guest
It is such a joy to work with bright and organized individuals! :-) Software is also a product that is in a sense intangible and almost like a 'thoughtform' a shadow, unreal. That is where the nodes come in! Rahu or ketu?? which one fits the bill better? , "guru_paadam" <guru_paadam> wrote: > Thanks for the special note on the time management, Initially I > thought this is important for everyone. Guest guest
I think its Rahu. Though both are shadowy, Rahu is the unexplored, unknown things, while Ketu on the otherhand is well known things. Its because of Rahu, we have increasingly fancier, increasingly vulnerable 95, 98, 2000, XP etc..If it would have been Ketu, I would be typing this in a 80X25 screen with fixed width fonts, but on a much stable and secure DOS. , "rohiniranjan" <rrgb@s...> wrote: > It is such a joy to work with bright and organized individuals! :-) > Software is also a product that is in a sense intangible and almost > like a 'thoughtform' a shadow, unreal. Guest guest
Why are you assuming that rahu is unexplored, unknown while ketu is well known things? I could have accepted if you said rahu represents more material things and material world as oppoed to ketu which is ethereal, etc. Our primary assumptions must not be too definitive unless we are sure and can give a basis. For example the dashas and bhuktis of rahu and ketu would be a good starting place. Do rahu dashas always or at least mostly send people to explore things, etc? while ketu brings about known things and known situations, etc.? Even if a text or two or revered pandit of astrology opines that a planet's karaktwa or nature should be such, one should try and follow it up in charts of individuals to corroborate. Particularly when it is the nodes which are very changeable (shadow) and often represent the planets that they represent (surrogates of). It is best to keep the mind open and explore always comparing the information in books with the information in the charts and experience of nativities. Only that which matches should be accepted. I understand that it is not possible for everyone to turn jyotish into a research project and to examine everything in a book etc. , but with nodes, please be cautious. They can be very unpredictable and hence the caveat. , "guru_paadam" <guru_paadam> wrote: > I think its Rahu. > > Though both are shadowy, Rahu is the unexplored, unknown things, > while Ketu on the otherhand is well known things. > > Its because of Rahu, we have increasingly fancier, increasingly > vulnerable 95, 98, 2000, XP etc..If it would have been Ketu, I would > be typing this in a 80X25 screen with fixed width fonts, but on a > much stable and secure DOS. > > > > > > , "rohiniranjan" <rrgb@s...> > wrote: > > It is such a joy to work with bright and organized individuals! :-) > > Software is also a product that is in a sense intangible and almost > > like a 'thoughtform' a shadow, unreal. Guest guest
Ok Sir, Your points are well taken. We will discuss on Rahu/Ketu in a seperate thread. Now What does Rahu influence in SW engineers chart ? Rahu should influence their ability and their actions at work place. Is this much good enough ? , "rohiniranjan" <rrgb@s...> wrote: > Why are you assuming that rahu is unexplored, unknown while ketu is > well known things? > > I could have accepted if you said rahu represents more material > things and material world as oppoed to ketu which is ethereal, etc. > > Our primary assumptions must not be too definitive unless we are > sure and can give a basis.
