Guest guest
Dear all, Can someone please confirm what i have learnt about the aspects of a retrograde planet. 1. If suppose jupiter is retrograde in first house it aspects the 1st,5th ,7th and 9th. The retrograde jupiter is also considered to be sitting in the 12th house and casting its influence on the 12th,4th,6th,8th as well. So a retrograde jupter is influencing 1,4,5,6,7,8,9,12 when it is in the 1st house. Am I correct ? It will be great if someone throws some light on the aspects of a retrograde planet. Guest guest
In Nandi nadi (trans. R.G. Rao) in discussing one of the charts, this was indicated that a retrograde jupiter (and perhaps other planets too) aspects the houses as if it is placed in the 12th, so it will influence the 12th, 4, 6th, 8th from its obvious position. It is not mentioned that it would also influence its normal position. KN Rao has also mentioned this somewhere but not wlaborated. I have tried looking into horoscopes with retrograde jupiter and in a few cases it seemed to fit but in most this was not the case. I am basing this on influences expected in dashas bhuktis related to jupiter based on its lordship, karakattwa, nakshatra disposition in a given horoscope. In astrology, it sometimes becomes difficult to tease out the specific role of a planet because it is a matrix of influences. Planets are interacting at many levels (vargas, nakshatras for starters). There is already too much overlap in jyotish. If we allow too many factors and add things such as drishtis etc to existing standard ones, the clarity would be reduced because then there will be even more overlap and more confusion. Hope you don't receive this as a discouragement for you to explore this new information that you have found.By all means, examine it in a few charts and see what your experience tells you. Just one note of caution: When you find a 'hit' immediately question if you can explain the attribute or effect in any other way in the chart. If there is a strong parallel factor then document it. Then move to the next chart and so on. Write down things, even if it is just the nativity's name and a few words. Revisit your notes after you have applied the principle to about 20 charts. If it seems encouraging, build up the case by doing a few more. Unfortunately, if one is serious, this is the only way -- tedious as it may sound. Same is true for ayanamsha and other ongoing, never say die mysteries in jyotish. Guest guest
Om Shreem Guruvaye Namaha, Dear sir, Retrograde planets do not have special aspects. In case of Jupiter, aspects remain as 5, 7 and 9, irregardless of normal or retrogradation. Reg K. Guest guest
Mr Rohinrajan, You quote Sri Yukteshwar and yet your mail is venoumous and contemptous of others. You even bring in the chinese people in a totally unrelated discussion. Why be so hatefull ? I have stated what i believe to be true. You and others might have a different opinion. Perhaps you could substantiate in which sloka Parasara says that retrograde planets aspect differently instead of going on ad-nauseum. K. Guest guest
WOW, I nearly missed this fireworks! Ajith, I don't really know what in my posting really agitated you, but it is for you to figure out. You reacted in a 'knee-jerk manner", I am afraid without really absorbing my posting. I used Sri Yukteshwara's reference not in a spiritual context but just what he wrote in a book of his. Naming names ... I am convinced that Mr. Raman who was born several decades after Yukteshwara mentioned about his ayanamsha using some prevalent panchaang/panjika but doing the math a bit wrongly (using a fixed 54 second per year value for recession instead of the more accurate one which Raman used to derive from the same seed point (equinox of 1892 if I remember correctly -- from Holy Science) but Raman never having given the explanation or reference, who knows! It is all detailed in an article by me if you care to know about it. I am not arrogant as some have portrayed me or seem me as, I am not disrespectful to elders or contemporaries just for the heck of it -- I am totally INTOLERANT to the drama, politics and C-R-A-P that is floating around in the name of jyotish. Please understand that I take a big personal risk and have taken it for many decades when I swear allegience to jyotish. I absolutely don't need to do that or ever did. For what it is worth, I WILL continue to THOUGH even if it destroys me to never pussy-foot around the scum that floats in this pristine pond and passes for knowledge or truth (and I don't mean this forum or even internet!). If you have read the life of Dalai Lama and the plight of Tibetans, you will understand why I talked about Chinese pandas (the communists only, not the entire chinese culture -- God forbid, or the beautiful people they are, at least the ones I have known after they escaped communism and for a good reason! By 'sage' I was referring to Yukteshwara and not Parashra! How could you and maybe more appropriately, why did you choose to misunderstand that, Ajith? In another message I mentioned that R.G. Rao in his translation of the nadis told about the retrograde principle. I do not think Parashara mentioned that. You either did not read that, or chose not to quote that message in the ones below (which I have truncated to save bandwidth) UNLESS we ordinary mortals who dabble in jyotish from our ant's view learn to be honest, sincere and true, we spell doom for astrology in general. It is in a precarious state as it is, let us the lovers of jyotish NOT be the straw that broke the camel's back! Whatever my personal ambitions may be in terms of spirituality, this forum is not where I will reveal that. Here I talk about jyotish and relevant matters (including homeopathy!). I hope you understand my posting a bit better now. RR , ajith@o... wrote: > > Mr Rohinrajan, > > You quote Sri Yukteshwar and yet your mail is venoumous and contemptous of > others.
