Guest guest
Hello, I have a general query .. When we talk of friendship (temporary, or otherwise) between planets, I am curious to know what we are actually implying? That the planet that is a friend will actually help the cause of the planet that it is being friendly with? Also, when we consider aspects of planets, do we take into account these friendships as well? I mean will the aspect of a malefic planet on it's friend actually just help the cause of the planet it is befrending? I am not sure if all this comes into the scope of friendships ... Help appreciated ! Surya. Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Messenger. http://messenger./
Guest guest
I personally really never consider friendship etc about aspects, but only in sign positions. For example my Ju is in scorpio, a great friend's house [natural+temporal friend] that is good. But Mars the 8th lord aspects it by sign aspect, and though it's great friend of Ju, it's aspect on Ju (7L) won't be good because 8th lord rules cheating and unfairness, immorality. So it tries to give a v slight tendency of being cheated by spouse, very slight though. This was further strengthened when I was working with mars mantra and within a weak something like that happened in my life!!! :-) I just consider the own nature and rulership for different effects. Guest guest
The two types of sambandhas, tatkalika (based on planets flanking a planet -- kind of think of those as a team of players on the same side of the volleyball net or in a kabaddi match) and the naisargika (based on lordship oriented from a planet's moolatrikona sign) are utilized in the computation of balas (mitra, atimitra, etc) and thus if a planet is in a sign of a friend it gains strength. It does make sense. One is more relaxed and able to exercise one's duties and intrinsic qualities more freely in a friendly environment. Mars I think is the only exception. Being a soldier and fighter, it needs some obstructions and resistance around it to keep it challenged. It exaltation in the sign of the confining saturn for instance. On the other hand, in a watery sign like cancer in the sign ruled by emotional moon, it loses power. Aspects are modified by the state of the planet that is aspecting. There is a 'belief' in some circles that an exalted planet's glance is bad while a debilitated planet's glance (drishti) is good, but I have never seen a clean example of that (as is true for many other claims in jyotish, particularly the folk-talesy kind of dicta. These must all be tested in charts before accepting those. Here is what I propose. Take a chart of a person that you know well and one who has undergone a vimshottari dasha of a planet that is in a friend's house or enemy's house or which is being aspected by a planet who is an enemy or friend. Examine what the experience of the individual was during the dasha/bhukti of the aspecting planet and also check out the area represented by the nakshatra lord of the aspecting planet. See if a pattern emerges. I think this is a more satisfying (though work is involved) way of figuring out these things. Please do not leave it at the mental rumination stage which gave birth to the question. Follow it in the only real teaching aid there is: birth charts of individuals who can corroborate or whose life is known to you. This applies to all questions of similar kind. Guest guest
Thanks for your comments Tanvir .. But what would happen when say mars were to be the lord of one good and one bad house (good bad used loosely here)? or when he lords over say two good houses? --- Tanvir Chowdhury <lord_narayana wrote: > I personally really never consider friendship etc > about aspects, but > only in sign positions.
