Guest guest
Hi members, At the time of our birth the celestial arrangement determies our instincts and nothing else. We act in certain ways, think, react, talk do all the "verbs" in our life depending on our instincts. In fact that this very group exists means that our instinct to gain occult knowledge is predominant in all of us. This instinct determines our acts, these acts determines our destiny and thus astrology is a tool by which we know our destiny. Recently I have seen members too dependent on this tool, questions similar to "should I eat this sitting under a tree", "should I have go to temple on this day", "who should I worship" etc. (please no offence meant but I am just trying to make a point here) makes me feel that we are too dependent on this tool...Yes, we need to master it to know our own self better, and mostly our own limitations but this doesnot mean that we become a slave to the system. Friends, I think so and believe in that rule astrology but don't let it rule you. Shiv rides over the Bull (symbolising instincts), the Bull doesn't ride over HIM. Hope I could make a point!! Chill out in the Heat!! Souvik

Guest guest
Yes Souvik, I wrote an article a few years ago at: http://www.indianest.com/astro/00318.htm <Title: Some thoughts on jyotish of today> When you have a chance, please read it and you will see what I thought of this specific matter about pulling an ishta devta out of the horoscopic magic hat ;-) There is also the danger at the other pole of too loose interpretation where astrologers try to fit everything within the astrological framework. But to each own. Speaking of freewill and choice, I wonder whether Deities chose to ride certain animal- vehicles or was it all destined by a Super-Deity. They say that the creation is a hierarchy of gods being ruled by God and GODs and it keeps going on --- ;-) Rohiniranjan , "OM" <explore_vulcan> wrote (partial quote only): > Hi members, > > > Recently I have seen members too dependent on this tool, questions > similar to "should I eat this sitting under a tree", "should I have > go to temple on this day", "who should I worship" etc. (please no > offence meant but I am just trying to make a point here) makes me > feel that we are too dependent on this tool...Yes, we need to master > it to know our own self better, and mostly our own limitations but > this doesnot mean that we become a slave to the system. > snip< > Souvik
