Guest guest
Dear Jean I quote from your comments: "When this detached view of life became accepted as the basis of Vedic wisdom, the wholeness of life and fulfilment was lost. This error of understanding has dominated Indian culture for centuries and has turned the principle of life upside down. Life on the basis of detachment. This is a complete distortion of Indian philosophy. It has not only destroyed the path of realisation, but has led the seekers of truth continuously astray." Votre email address me dit que vous ete en France! Your words of wisdom coincide with my views so much but perhaps our comments might un-wittingly give offence to the majority of the membership of this group - No malice or offence is intended but this discussion is leading away from the jyotish shashtras to the reality of life in the present day and age....... Again I quote : "...Shankara's view has been misrepresented by commentators who undertook to propagate his philosophy.........." and "...The founder of the Yoga philosophy, Patanjali, was himself misinterpreted, and the order of stages on his eightfold path reversed............" It does not matter if the words quoted above are yours or you too (like me) were quoting the words of your Guru..... I am deeply troubled that the ancient land of my forefathers produces so many enlightened souls - each one bringing his OWN LIGHT to dispel the gloom of 'so called ignorance' - and the cycle of each 'new' enlightened soul - Guru - brings NEW LIGHT to replace ' old knowledge and wisdom' which is now termed 'ignorance'. Jean - all I can say - that 'I am confused' - I have an open mind. I agree : Your quote "Vedic text will tell you that everything is Brahman. "That" (Absolute) is Brahman but "This" (Relative) also is Brahman. Nothing is left over... From the smallest to the Biggest, from relative to Absolute... >From Emptiness to Fullness; all the fields of life, all the fields of knowledge, being Vedic or modern... Brahman is One Wholeness... and wholeness is a status that should be lived ultimately. The present moment is inevitable! - What ever is happening right now has had to happen - and all karma necessary for this event to take place have had to have happened already in the past!! and now if you can punctuate the following - it will be fun - and become meaningful - : "that that is is that that is not is not is that it it is" Jean - you are amazing! - hope to hear further Ajay
