Guest guest
Dear friends, I want to add some views mainly inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi but confirmed and put into practice by hundreds of us in our daily living. There are somehow 2 kind of nervous system. And they express each other in 2 different ways of experiencing the relative world and ultimately moksha. One way is to get to the Ultimate in deliberately discriminating about what is temporary and what is absolute. Then one would say "This is not That, this is not That, the Whole world is not That..." till the mind, heart, intellect, body, the whole being is permeated with the absolute only, left with the only absolute Reality. The other way would be to enfold the world and its temporary experiences as expression of That and would say "Yes this is That, and this is That also, getting more and more of life, awareness becoming wider and wider, embracing the whole universe and ultimately embracing its Absolute essence, Pure Consciousness. There are disciplines, techniques and mantras for both aspects. All the mantras based on the primordial sound "Om" would generally blessed those who renounce the world. When I was very young I have been practicing one which was extremely powerful. Sounds that were identified with the breathing in and the breathing out process. After few months this mantra was vibrating all the time, 24 hours a day, during activity, sleep and dream... all the time. And the world, gently... was becoming to fade, to vanish, to lose its substance. The whole world was nothing but a corpse, a veil weaved and destroyed over and over again in front of me, a dream without much content and only the soft radiance of the Self was there. So yes it works, no mood making in the process! But this is not indeed the householder way of life. The householder way of life is of a much higher meaning (I am from a brahmachary order so I do not think that I can be accuse to be partial on that ). Life has to be lived at 200%; 100% Absolute and 100% relative. Life is by nature "Uni-versal"; Unity in diversity... both should be lived fully in their perfect integrity. This is Ved; the full glory of relative life lived in the full glory of the light of Atma... this is Brahm... Brahm is Wholeness (More than the collection of the parts). Wholeness of the relative and wholeness of the Absolute. Nothing is left over. Why should a householder be devoid of a life lived in perfect happiness, in bliss, in the abundance of the fullness of the Self in the relative field of life? The knowledge of the Self through repeated experience of Samadhi is the prerequisite to live at it's deepest the loving and tender relation between man and wife, between parents and children etc... You don't have to turn your back to the joy of the senses to get Moksha but you have to get Samadhi to nourish the world with the blossoming and nourishing values of the Divine. One of our friend said in a previous message that in the "old" days Rishis, Sages or Gurus were very often Householders. They were the embodiment of Knowledge, they were the fullness of Ved but were still enjoying family life in all its aspects. They were even Brahmacharies with wife and children ) Brahmachary meaning Self-Sufficient or Self-Content. But along with the joy of the senses there was not the binding influence of chandas; there was always the eternal continuum of Being, the infinite silence of Pure Consciousness, Absolute Bliss Consciousness... both were fully enjoyed. The way people are looking at Moksha is the first state of Unity, and moksha it is indeed, when the mind is established in Pure Consciousness and is the eternal witness of all aspects of life; desires, thought process, action, sleep or dream. All experiences are enjoyed fully, but the experience of Atma is never lost. In this state, life is blessed in the full flow of Nature's Laws, in full harmony, no seed for karma just the perfect and blissful "Will of God". But there is more... this is a turning point and there is a word for it... "Nivartadhwam" or "Return". This "way back" is aiming at a full transformation of matter, the divinisation of the relative field of life, what Shri Aurobindo was calling the Supramentalisation. The relative world is called to become a glorious garden, an amazing field of all possibilities and not something one should reject as being only a field of death to be controlled, and thrown away after use. Bliss is the state of Being in its state of perfect equilibrium... samhita... perfect state of Absolute vigilance... nothing is needed... you are just Self Content; Absolute, infinite, eternal. But it needs the joys of relative life to make this Bliss lively... Imagine taking a warm bath, how the body feel... you are not moving... it all feels so good... so refreshing; peace and calmness... Now start to move one arm, one leg... and this is joy... "waves of joy that trickle everywhere". This is an add on to the perfect and stable state of bliss!! To have a human body is one of the greatest boon we can wish for, as it gives us the opportunity to realize God in His Supreme Glory... angels are watching closely as they should take this road sometimes... But this will only be true if we feel the gap missing in the practical knowledge of Yog. The practical knowledge is the knowledge of the missing link... experience of the Self... Samadhi. Yoga that is understood as "steps"; the different steps Yama, Niyama, Asana etc... should instead be understood in term of "limbs"... the togetherness of the limbs will make the body of Yog. All the limbs should be practiced in a balanced sequence but the "as to be the goal" should be understood as the fundamental prerequisite... "Higher first". This is the "Nistrai-gunyo bhava" of the Gita; going beyond the three gunas... the practical way to experience, develop and cultivate the different levels of Samadhi which will make blossom naturally all the secular qualities in our daily life. All this knowledge is alive again and pratically experienced through simple and natural techniques of Deep Meditation and Samyama brought to the world by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Nothing is new under the sun... Ok it could sound for some like proselytizing, but it's not. It is just the natural desire to share the taste of the fruit that is so vital for life for everyone. Eternal Bliss and Joys of Life are our Divine heritage, in wishing the Greatest realization in Life, we wish for what belongs to us, for our birthright... It is never too late to claim it!
