Guest guest
I haven't attained any divinity but I have faith in God and I believe in certain principles and try to follow them. I believe in the fact that what has to happen will happen and i have to accept what life offers me. I dont know when I write this how much sense do I make but I cannot resist sharing these thoughts of mine with you all , though I dont think I am writing anything new or may be I am not even capable of writing on this topic... An ageold question : why do we suffer? what's the root cause? All great people have said that attachment is the main cause of suffering.I keep thinking about this. As human beings is it posiible for us not to get attached to someone or something, staying in this world? Difficult..eh? This means that we are bound to suffer. So, there can be just two ways-- either do not get attached to anything OR accept the pain. I have seen that more do we get attached, we start expecting more which later leads to pain. >From my own experiences I can say that sometimes we dont want to fall in to any kind of attchment ..somewhere inside we know that this attachment is going to give us pain..but then we r humanbeings afterall. Not everyone can be Gautam Buddha...so what do we do...try to keep a control over our minds..not to get attached deeply with anyone or anything so that when we lose it or are hurt we dont feel the pain...? Is it possible? Manoshi Mail SpamGuard - Read only the mail you want.
Guest guest
-It is extremly hard .I dont know how Gautam Buddha did it.But when my kids are sick or crying i cant focus at god or worship. It might get easier once they are grown up and out of the house.I think its difficult for females. Remember they said 1. 25 yrs for education 2.25=50 yrs for gristhashram 3. 50=100 for moksha. Guest guest
Nina, the Buddha did it by abandoning his wife and child...then found that enlightenment eluded him anyway for a considerable time. That quiet space is within yourself, not in withdrawal from the world. If you escape the trials of everyday life you may attain many realisations and a sense of inner peace - if you then come back into mainstream life, how solid is that attainment?....you might find you crack at the first challenging confrontation with another. But the ground you gain in terms of spiritual growth through your family and children can never be taken from you. Nirvana is a state of being, not a place, and it is waiting for you to surrender at any moment, any place, here where you are right now. Guest guest
Hi, one experience I had which I think falls under this catagory is that when I stopped trying to go after a particular thing I was after, then what it was I was after just happened on it's own. And when I had that something for that little while (it was gone just as fast as it came) I had no feeling of loss or pain when I didn't have it any more. I think that's because I had it without wanting it at time that I had it, so what you wrote makes a lot of sense to me. , Manoshi Chatterjee <khallopapa> wrote: > Dear Friends, > > I haven't attained any divinity but I have faith in God and I believe in certain principles and try to follow them. Guest guest
more to add...I have found that its very difficult to erase the past memories.More easily one can do that, easier it is for him/her to dissolve the pain which had arisen from the attachment.Generally we cherish our fond memories and that gives us more pain.Time is a big factor and it helps.I am sure meditation etc. definitely helps. I very much agree with the response that more we try to get away from the fact more we think about it and more are we disturbed. So, live naturally....not very easy though.
