Guest guest
All: I have given some of my views on "Overcoming Fear". These thoughts are based on my experiences in life. I have tried to gather them and compile them for all of you. Please bear a few minutes and go through my write-up. I hope it makes some sense. To a certain extent, fear is after everyone. Within the heart, there is a center of fear, just as there is a center of greed, a center of desire and a center of ignorance. There is no one in this world who is not subject to fear. A person who is enjoying pleasures is afraid of disease. A person who holds a high position is afraid of falling. A scholar is afraid of competition from other scholars. A wealthy person is afraid of a king. A king is afraid of his enemies. And everyone is afraid of OLD AGE and DEATH. Only the INNER SELF is completely free of fear. One experiences FEAR as long as you do not know the inner self and are not aware of its immense power. Only a person who believes that he is different from the SELF, that he is other than the SELF, who maintains his seperate identitiy, as a man or woman, remains fearful. Fear exists in the feeling of seperation, the feeling of otherness. The moment you acquire the knowledge of the TRUTH, one will become fearless. Yet even if we do not have the knowledge of the SELF, one should realize that there is nothing to be afraid of. One should not be afraid of DEATH or SICKNESS. One should never wonder what is going to happen. We must inderstand that we are the SELF. One must understand that God exists everywhere: before us, behind us, above us and below us. In the Bhagavad Gita, there is a verse in which the Lord says "When someone is devoted to me, I take care of what he already has and secure what he does not possess". Let us trust God. Let us trust our own SELF. The inner SELF exists inside US. Gods powers exists in our body. A person becomes afraid when he feels that he is alone and that no one is taking care of him, but when the SELF (GOD) pervades everywhere, how can anyone ever be ALONE? Let us try and realize this. We are not alone. Merge with SELF. He is everywhere. Now moving a step forward--> There is a VEIL between the individual soul and the Supreme SELF, and this veil represents FEAR. As our awareness moves closer and closer to the SUPREME Self we experience this Fear. We become terrified of letting ourselves GO. It is that FEAR which stops us from becoming ONE with HIM. Or is it not? :-). Sometimes a meditator gives up meditating forever because he becomes so terrified when he comes across the center of FEAR. One should watch for the CENTER of this FEAR. If we can FACE it, we will go beyond it. Then we will become completely FEARLESS. I put it simply. This is very powerful. If we lose oursleves with great COURAGE, WE will ATTAIN THAT, WE will ATTAIN HIM.. If we hold ourselves back because of that FEAR, we WILL LOSE EVERYTHING. I take the courage to write my final closing statements. ========================================================= As long as our EGO exists, as long as our INDIVIDUALITY exists, WE CANNOT ATTAIN GOD. Once our individuality is obliterated, we are GOD. Aum Shanti Shanti Shanti. --Sanjay Aggarwal
Guest guest
But how do you define ego? How do you differentiate between ego and self-pride/respect? Why there is a fear of losing when you love someone? so should we stop loving?sanjaytechnology <sanjaytechnology > wrote: All:I have given some of my views on "Overcoming Fear".
