Guest guest
Congratulations, my friend. You have become the recipient of Dharmananda's Exquisitely Designed Birthchart Award. Somebody put a lot of work into this birth. I don't know whether it was you or your ancestors or your Dharma protectors, but this chart is a veritable work of art. Let's start with Ketu in the 4th. That's probably what is called a Sarpa Dosha. But, like everything else in Jyotish, the meaning of it depends on everything else that is happening in the chart. Ketu in the 4th means that the person tends either to be homeless (I can tell that you're not), or that they don't need a home. What they need is something like an Ashram. And what would indicate life in an Ashram? Well how about Shani, retrograde and Neecha Bandha because it's the Yoga Karaka, in the 12th in Mesh? Saturn in that position, like Ketu in the 4th, is a first-class Moksha karaka. But the person isn't a real renunciate unless all the Moksha houses are solid. So let's look at the 8th. Interesting. In the 8th we find Suryaraj, the 4th ruler. Moksha ruler in Moksha house. So far you're batting 1000 for sainthood. But, what is this I see? Could there be a miserable flea in the ointment of Moksha-tude? Could this be the Markesh, of all people, also there in the 8th? Yes! Foiled! And the Markesh is also in the Nakshatra of Moola, which has the power to destroy. So you will not stay in an Ashram (or other secluded situation), despite the strength of these Moksha houses. You will be pulled out into the world, specifically in the dasas that belong to Mercury. And this is not a bad thing. There is both a marriage and a career here, and the two are interconnected because of this beautiful mutual reception between Mars (7th ruler), and Venus (6th ruler). And the involvement of Tula (6th house) is practically a cliche for Hindus of your age. And the meaning of it is particularly stark with these Moksha houses, and this mutual reception: One foot in Dharma, and one foot in the world. But for you, it is staged through time. Now Darma, and then now again, the world. And we know that the wife is the instigator of these changes, because the 8th ruler, the Guru, is found in the 7th. And again, we know that the wife is the instigator of these changes, because the DK is in fact the Markesh in Moola. And again we know that the wife is the instigator of these changes, because the Navamsha is disposited to the 3rd by Venus. And shucks, tar my feathers and call me a grackle if the 3rd house of the Navamsha isn't Tula all over again! She's a pusher, with exalted Saturn, Venus (final dispositor) and Rahu in the third, the Guru, ruling 5 and 8 in the 1st in a mutual reception with Sun in 5th, and Mercury and the Moon, ruling 11, 12, and 2, in the 10th. The weakness in the Navamsha is Ketu in the 9th. (That's probably also what is called a Sarpa Dosha, and Venus-Saturn in 3rd is a first class Raja Yoga). She's a Rani, but she's not real good about what's right. So here's how the graha and their dasa stack up for marriage: Sun ExcellentMoon BadMars GoodMercury Very Good Guru MixedVenus BESTSaturn ExcellentRahu GoodKetu WORST Looking at the career, D10 is disposited to Tula in the 2nd by Venus. Are you feeling haunted yet? Ketu is in the 12th in D10. A Moksha karaka in a Moksha house is not good for career. And again, the 12th ruler, Surya is in the 1st in D10. Not good for career. But Jupiter in the 1st, ruling 4 and 7, and seeing the chart ruler, (Mercury) in the 5th, is great for career. And there are three malefics in Upachaya houses: Saturn in 3rd, Rahu in 6th, and Mars in 11. That's good for career. So the career is mixed. sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, you go back to Dharma. So here's how the planets and their periods stack up for career: Sun BadMoon GoodMars MixedMercury Very GoodGuru Very GoodVenus BESTSaturn MixedRahu BadKetu WORST So, looking at this, one could say in summary that your best all-around benefic is your chart ruler, Venus, and the next best is Mercury, and your worst malefics are Rahu and Ketu. But note well: It is during the dasas of the malefics that you will have time for Dharma. You also asked about Ishtadeva. I don't know much about that. What my experience suggests so far is the ruler of the Moon's Nakshatra at birth, which for you would be Guru. But I think the idea of the Ishtadeva is that you're supposed to choose it yourself.
