Guest guest
Dear Ritu: These rules from Jyotish are pretty straight forward. Most books will give the exact degrees that a Planet gets 'combust', when too close to the Sun. Retrograde just means that there's an 'R' by the name of the planet to distinguish between direct and retrograde motion. And the general idea is that the Planets are weaker in different situations. When a planet is combust it's weaker. Think of the Sun, like a large light, and a Planet like a little flame candle. Well, the closer that little candle gets to the big light, the less of an effect does it have. It isn't that the Planets loose any less influence. It's just in comparison to other positions, the effect on the Earth, during transits of combustion, or the realities of someone's chart; express this weakened situation. And Retrograde, too, is not unnatural or supernatural, they just represent the time when the Planet in it's natural orbit around the Sun,...appears to be going backwards, in relationship to the Earth. At such times, especially for such planets as Mercury, the positive effects of each Planet are less strong. There are also rules that describe when Planets are strong, too. When they're generally in the middle of most any Sign. When they're in a 'friendly' Sign, when they're in a Sign that is it's Own Sign and when they're in their sign of Exaltation. For the Moon, too, when the Moon is bigger and bigger, towards the Full Moon, it's stronger again, both in Transits and in a person's chart. The most important thing we should say, in addition, is... that no matter how strong your planets are when we're born, each and every planet is supposed to be able to strengthen.... and make stronger! This is not talked about much, but to me speaks to the very essence of Jyotish. That's why I like this 'jyotish-remedies' group so much because the very premise here, is that we can do something about our weakened or un-developed Planets! And I believe in that whole heartily! take care Mark Kincaid PS....I know you've heard, but for those that don't....I also write a Jyotish newsletter. It includes a daily, Transits newsletter as well as other aspects of Jyotish as well. If you, or anyone else in this group is interested, in subscribing, feel free to contact me personally at: m.kincaid And the newsletter is free. > "Ritu Lalit" <ritulalit > > Sat, 07 Feb 2004 05:38:07 -0000 > > (unknown) > > Can any one enlighten me on how to know if a planet is combust, retro > and how to understand the strenght of the planets in the chart > > > > ~!
