Guest guest
Dear all, What is the full-form procedure, rules, instructions of worshipping Lord Shiva with his mantras? Say, any special guideliness, preparation, sitting facing any specific directions or anything else one should follow? I have been chanting mantras to Lord Narayana, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishnu with pretty good results but as many times I try Lord Shiva's mantras, it does not give me comfortable results. Any ideas? I just was wondering that is there anything I do not know, which is very necessary for chanting mantras to Lord Shiva? Best wishes, Tanvir
Guest guest
Hello Tanveer, Can I have your birth details please? I need to check the combinations. Usually Lord Shiva is prayed facing north. This is because Parvati Mata is known as DAKSHINA, DAKSHINA ARAADHYA. Om Namah Shivaya ..... is universal form of Japa nama. For you, having known about your bend of spiritual quest, I would suggest you to chant, SHIVOHAM...SHIVOHAM. Use Rudraksha Mala. This will grant you absolute blisss even while chanting. All sandhya times are best for prayers to Lord Shiva. A lot can be written about shivaaradhana. More in due course. Rgds H Trivedi SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. Guest guest
Hello DDN, Please refer to Sri Lalita Sahasra Nama" Two names refer to Lalita/Parvati as, Dakshina, Dakshina Aradhya, As Kamakshi, she is prayed in South India. Kama Kala in body (Yoni) is residing in South, since Shiva (Mastaka) is in North. Guest guest
However, Yoni pitha per se is in Kamrup (Assam) North east..... I guess the directional lords are : East and North: Vishnu and Lakshmi West : Kama and Rati (Shani loves West, was born in Saurashtra on the west coast). South : Siva and Parvathi(Siva is Dakshinamurthi. This is also Mrityu's direction) East and North are considered good (auspicious). Praying looking towards the North is supposed to be powerful. However, the most common direction for praying is East(rising sun, life, energy, dharma) In most Indian temples, the dieties face east. Guest guest
Thanks. My birth details are - 24th December, 1982; 12:30 AM [00:30 Hrs.] Dhaka, Bangladesh - it would mean 90E25, 23N43, GMT+6, No DLS. Lagna is around 15 degree Virgo. Generally the changes due to mantras are never perfect for me [both good and bad effects] so I always add an 'Om' and the end and that gives me no problem with the mantras of Lord Narayana, Lord Ganesha and so on. Same way I chanted 'Om Namah Shivaya Om' but it was not bringing a pleasant result... I am yet to fully recover from some of the troubles it created! :-( Then, do you suggest that I can chant only 'Shivoham... Shivoham...' X 108 times or such? Could you tell us what this mantra means and what is the speciality of this? Is this a very good mantra of Lord Shiva? Guest guest
~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ Dear Tanvir Bhai, Salaam and Namaste. Just Recite "Om Namah Shivaya" without adding Om in the end. Om Namah Shivaya is a para-siddha mantra and cannot harm anybody. It can be used by anybody for general well being. Do the japa on Rudraksha Mala and if possible keep a shivalinga in front of you. It gives results very slowly as what I have read. It is said that the mantra becomes siddha when one has recited it 1,25,000 times. I recite "Om Namah Shivaya" every morning 108 times (facing towards east) and then wear The Rudraksha Combination Pedant. Regards, Neeraj Gupta --- Tanvir Chowdhury <j_remedies wrote: > Thanks. Guest guest
OM NAMAH SHIVAYA Dear Neeraj: I am very interested in this particular chant. For I have been chanting OM NAMAH SHIVAYA and have had very good results. Out of the many mantras I have encountered OM NAMAH SHIVAYA has been the one for me. I have tried to research this Mantra found some useful information and have learned But there is one thing thing that stands out in my many studies and experiences. '"TRUE BHAKTI IS FAR SUPERIOR TO MERE RITUALS." Here is an answer from a Vedic Priest here in America. Question : I have heard the one must receive a mantra from a guru for it to work. Is this true? Answer: Those who have unwrapped the power of a mantra through many repetitions achieve something called "Mantra Siddhi." This means that they have attained some measure of power and proficiency with the mantra. At this point, they may give a mantra to others "with power," meaning that the recipient will achieve results faster than doing it without having received it "with power." However, Sanskrit mantras are your spiritual birthright since they are directly linked to the chakras. They will work even if you read them from a book and begin practice. The minimum number of repetitions to achieve Mantra Siddhi is generally recognized as 125,000. Please clarify your number below and also can you tell me more on OM NAMAH SHIVAYA. For example there are many Mantras that have particular applications and Siddhis that will be developed. Thank You for your time. Dear Members jump in at anytime if you like to share any information on OM NAMAH SHIVAYA. Guest guest
~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ Dear Jose, Yes, you are very correct. If one has undying faith in the mantra, it will work. Some mantras are recommended to be taken by guru, but again, faith or bhakti is superior to all. It's not the way how you worship (mantra, aarti, reciting names, Japa, Homam, Yaga), but the feelings matter more. The way one finds comfortable, it is good. I have read somewhere that one attains siddhi after reciting it 1,25,000 times. I daily recite one mala, not more. Let it go slowly and cool way. Not in a hurry. I am happy with it. While reciting it, I see myself in front of lord shiva, cleaning there feet and then offering some flowers and then giving him bhoga. Again, one should do as one feels comfortable. No special rules. Guest guest
Dear Neeraj Bhai, Salam. Thanks for the answer. Yes I know that mantras like 'Om Namah Sivaya' and 'Om Namo Narayanaya' can not do harm. But, I do not know, I have problems with mantras :-( I have always faced problems with mantras when I listen to an audio and even when I chanted with a rosary. I felt very frustrated. They used to do good too but a lot more bad was there. Well, It was only that I was very much initiative [As I always was] about going India for only buying books then read from Guru Deva's book about adding Om in the last - then I started to get no problems/ "Almost no problems" with mantras. Though I saw that Guru Jee has written that Om Namo Narayanaya and such mantras do not need to add Om at the last. But in my case, I do not know... I, however, never tried 'Om Namah Sivaya' with a rosary. I hope to do it soon. There are very very few Hindu Temples here and I collected the Tulsi Mala from ISCON with much trouble, these are not made here but comes from India. The few temples we have there are either of Goddess Durga or Goddess Kali, even Lord Krishna's temples are more rarer. I never saw a Shiva temple anywhere and I do not know how to get the Rudraksha Mala... ... will try soon. Collecting Shiva Linga is near to impossible I guess. But I will definitely try. I find Shiva Mantras to be much more powerful and fast working than mantras to Lord Ganesha and Lord Narayanaya.\ Will write to you again with updated history. Best wishes, Tanvir. , Neeraj Gupta <gupta_neeraj_2000> wrote: > ~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ > > Dear Tanvir Bhai, > > Salaam and Namaste. Just Recite "Om Namah Shivaya" > without adding Om in the end. Guest guest
dear neeraj bhai, namaste. thanks for the offer. thanks indeed. but here the postal is not always reliable and often posts are lost :-( that is a problem. and also, i would like to try on my own first. then if i can not, i will take your help for sure. it is really nice of you :-) after my hsc exam in june 2004 i might again visit india for short and buy some of these stuff. let us see what happens :-) i truely do not know how did i help u! really! i just helped you a bit o interprete your chart. and, most of all, the real help is remedy, not the chart interpretation. and that you did by yourself by your sincerity and devotion :-) it has to be in our destiny to be blessed otherwise we can not do anything. no matter how much i tried, i could buy the books only in my me-ra-ve dasha, ve being my 9th lord, and rahu dispositting saturn in his star in 2nd thus removing some of the probs sat creates, sat also creates trouble in learning [sat is slow, and 2nd is learning] and so it happened in rahu bhukti [good of learning] and then in ve PD [9th lord-truely good steps/events esp spirituality and dharma]... so you see... ... after june 2004 i will be running me-JU-JU so that might be a possibility - Ju is one of the most powerful blessings in my life [another is VE, but that gives a bit of troubles bec it is afflicted]... ... on the other hand i keep doing mantras to lord narayana and lord ganesha etc., that gives me enough betterment :-) i have seen that doing mantras keeping the mala in bag is much more powerful than doing mantras keeping the mala in open. also if i accidentally count the main bead too [thus becomes 109 times] then it gives very bad results. on one side the beads gradually becomes bigger so at one point it is sometimes confusing to differenciate the last of bead from the main bead without seeing. so i have to be very careful :-( take care for now :-) best regards always tanvir. , Neeraj Gupta <gupta_neeraj_2000> wrote: > ~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ > > Dear Tanvir Bhai, > > Salam and Namaste > > If you want, I can send you a shivalinga and a > Rudraksha Mala by post to you. Guest guest
Hiya what time is the best to do mantra japa. I been told to do it between am - 6am in the morning. is it possible then I can do it in the evning (Please give me time). I am very much interested in Shri Hari, load shiva and Maa Durga Japa but when I do it then some how I feel more upset and have face lots of problems. I do followin manatras japa OM NAMAH SHIVAYA (108 times) Om Namo Bhagvate Vaasudevaya or Ram Ram Ram Ram (108 times) Om hrim Dum Durgaye Namah (108 times) I do keep fast on Saturdays for Lord Narayana as given to for remedy for marital / relationshipproblems (provided love is true) and also for Murcury. hanuman Chalisa everyday for Mars and offer Prasad on Tuesdays in temple. Also advise what is differenence between Hari Om and Om Namo Bhagvate Vaasudevaya mantras and there effects. any other advise Here my and my girlfriend birth details again (we are seprated last year Dec 2002) My detailsName: Dipesh Virchand SolankiDOB: 29/05/1981Birth Place: DIU (Gujarat) U.T of Daman & DIU., India Time of Birth: Friday 29/05/1981 in morning around 9 to 10am. If one has undying faith inthe mantra, it will work. Some mantras are recommendedto be taken by guru, but again, faith or bhakti issuperior to all. It's not the way how you worship (mantra, aarti, reciting names, Japa, Homam, Yaga), but the feelingsmatter more. The way one finds comfortable, it isgood.I have read somewhere that one attains siddhi afterreciting it 1,25,000 times. I daily recite one mala, not more. Let it go slowly and cool way. Not in ahurry. I am happy with it. While reciting it, I seemyself in front of lord shiva, cleaning there feet andthen offering some flowers and then giving him bhoga.Again, one should do as one feels comfortable. Nospecial rules.Regards,Neeraj Gupta--- Jose Rosa <master4114 > wrote:> OM NAMAH SHIVAYA> > Dear Neeraj:> > I am very interested in this particular chant. Guest guest
~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ Dear Dipesh, Don't get into very much intricacies. Do the japa when you have time. Just be pure from heart and leave the feeling of result-oriented or pre-occupied with result. In this way you will never be able to concentrate. So, what you will be doing is japa from mouth and your thoughts, feelings, mind and heart towards your lady love. That will surely not help or the results will be minimum. Do the japa whenever you feel comfortable. It is generally advised do the japa after you take bath in morning be it 6,7,8 or 9 am. You can do it in evening too. Like I do japa for some mantras while I am driving bike. Imagine all traffic, concentrating on driving and still a portion of my mind thinking about GOD, more consciously when I stop at red lights. Mantra will work only when you have faith in them. What I guess is that you are still pre-occupied with results. you take it as that you are doing Japa, but she is not talking to you, not coming back. If you have any ill or negative feelings against her, let them go. Pray for her to be happy, that's the true love, sacrifice. For if your love is true, your feelings are sincere and your devotion is pure, then expect good results. Also understand the concept of time. Everyone has to go through ups and downs in life. Yes *Everybody*, pick up any person in history till now. You are going through tough times, relax down, cool down. Don't push yourself hard or you will hit yourself. You are feeling upset, because you want to see wonders, magic which is not possible. Give time to yourself and understand that bad times pass too, though it seems that good times flew away very quickly. By the way one querry: In market only shivalingas & lingas with jalahari[yoni] are available seperately as well as one piece both ways. Which one is recommended. Some people use linga of one material and keep it on jalahari of another material, some use one piece-linga-jalahari, third variation is same material linga and jalahari but detachable and kept on one-another. Any comments............ regards, Pankaj Harish Trivedi [harishtri] Wednesday, January 28, 2004 6:19 PM Re: Lord Shiva's prayer Hello Neeraj ji, If you are sending Shivalinga, please send only SPHATIKA shivalinga. Only sphatika and Shaligram have PRANA in them. Guest guest
Hello Pankaj, Sphatik crystal Linga must be bought. I do not recommand to buy fused with Jaladhari. In actuality The base represents yoni and the whole thing represents Yoga of Purush and Prakriti. Lord shiva is in Samadhi bhava in this form and the rupa is soumya. But I would request you to by Jaladhari seperately (Silver). The fitting must be perfect.
