The Seven Teachings of the Bhagavad gita

The following are the seven fundamental teachings of the Bhagavad

gita.

1. Know the reality of the world in which you live.

2. Know the Reality about yourself, who you are and what you are

really.

3. Know the causes of instability of mind to achieve stability of

your mind which is the key to self-realization.

4. Cultivate true knowledge and discrimination. Know the difference

between Truth and falsehood, reality and illusion, knowledge and

ignorance, how true knowledge illuminates and liberates while

ignorance veils your wisdom and holds you in bondage.

5. Know the true nature of action and inaction and how actions bind

men to earthly life and cause suffering. Know the truth about the

doership. Know who is the true doer. Do not seek to escape from

responsibility. But perform your desireless actions with detachment,

without seeking the fruit of your actions accepting God as the True

Doer and yourself as a mere instrument.. True renunciation is

renunciation of desire and fruit of action.

6. Know the nature of Supreme-Self, identify yourself with Him and

accept Him as the center of your life instead of your ego.

7. Know the true nature of devotion, surrender and sacrifice. Live

in total devotion to God, surrendering yourself to Him completely,

making your life and actions as true offerings to Him, acknowledge

His supremacy in all your affaires and His unconditional love and

assurance of liberation to you as His devotee.
