the deity related to sani is lord brahma, but for being cursed by

lord shiva, it is generally not suggested to pray to him. that is why

people pray to lord narayana and that works great. the goddess

related to sani is goddess kali.

Generally,

Hanuman and Ganesh are propitiated to get rid of

effects of sani ... because of all the gods both

hanuman and ganesh are supposed to be the gods who

cant be touched by sani ...

giving gingelly oil (whatever quantity feels good to

you) at Hanuman temple just before or after sunset on

saturdays is very helpful ... it will also be

beneficial if you visualise that all the effects of

sani going out of ur body thru the oil ...

Again there are temples for lord sani himself ... and

there are days saturday or sani triodasi when giving

oil in those temples will be quite beneficial ...

However vishnu, specially in the form of Lakshmi

narshima is very effective in controlling sani ...

The way Kali deals with sani is very strange to me ...

sometimes godess kali will make her devotees undergo

deliberate hardships to take them towards vairagya and

herself .. by her very nature Kali is the form of

godess who causes awakening by destruction ... I

wouldnt suggest you to chase kali for the same ...

By far the most effective stotram to settle sani down

is the narashima stotram which goes as:

Ugram veeram maha vishnum

Jvalantam sarvatho mukham

Nrishimham bheesanam Bhadram

Mrutyum mrutyum namamyaham ...

I guess looking at sanskrit in english is difficult to

digest and chant ... I wish I could help you with

pronounciations or audio ... sadly I dont have that

option ... it will be nice if you can find the audio

file somewhere ...

Other than these there are some sani mantras that can

be done ... one being:

"Konasthah pingalo bhabru

Krishno raudrontako yamah

shouri shanaischaro mandaha

pippaladena saustutaha ..."

Again I can understand the problems with

prononuciations ...

lastly but not least ... we shold remember the words

of Mark when he said the key to sani is silence and

patience ...

good luck !

Thanks Tanvir !! didnt know that !!

anyhow this bit can be used as a stand alone mantra to

be repeted several times because it;s difficult to

chant the longer versions in hundreds ..

Wish you all a happy new year !!

of ourse it can be. sometimes a part of a mantra is specially

powerful that can be repeated independantly. say maha mrityunjaya

mantra is included in sri rudram but we also chant that

independantly. thanks and happy new year :-)
