Dear List members

I have been reading about navagraha pujas recommended as one of the

remedial measures for Jyotish. This is a basic question im sure other

beginners like myself will benefit from the wisdom by all the learnered

astrologers here.

Could someone please shed some light on the following questions re

navagraha puja.

1> When is navagraha puja recommended for a native?

2> Does it have any the potency to deliver what everyone promises - a

lot of pujaris recommend it without consulting the chart - hence my

question

3> Does the puja bring the following benefits to the native when

performed.....

3.a> strengthen the whole chart?

3.b> strengthen only the benefic planets?

3.c> cancel or lessen the negative effects of Benefic planets

3.d> strengthen all the planets in the same proportion to their

strengths and weaknesses as in the Rasi Chart, thus rendering the whole

exercise fruitless. I guess the same goes for recommending a nava-ratna

All the best & many thanks

Regards

Bipin

may be , this can be helpful to you.

What is Navgraha Puja? The nine "grahas" or planets in our horoscope control our

karma, our desires and their outcomes. Each of these nine planets exerts an

influence in our lives, which is called "dasa" and it can be known from one's

horoscope. Navagraha Puja is undertaken to reduce the negative effects and

improve the positive energies related to a person. Why worship the Navgrahas

?The nine planets have special kshetras ( place of worship ) in South India.

Most of them are concentrated near the Thanjavur district. Navagraha puja will

be helpful, when the concerned planet dasa or sub-dasa is in operation or if

the planet is associated with malefics or is in the 3rd, 6th, 8th, or 12th

house. Deity: SunThose who aspire for sound health, prosperity, good eyesight,

strength and courage, success, cure of chronic diseases

like leprosy, heart ailment, nervous weakness, asthma etc. should worship the

Sun. Also those running Sun dasha or Sub-period. Navagraha - MOON For

concentration, mental peace, pleasing personality, control of emotions and to

get rid of mental depression one should worship the moon god. Also those

running Moon dasha or Sub-period. Navagraha - MARS If giving bad results, needs

to be propitiated well. It is one of those planets that give very visible

positive or negative results.Navagraha - MERCURYThose who are weak at studies,

lack concentration and suffer from blood pressure and sugar problem etc.,

should worship Budha. Also those running Mercury dasha or Sub-period. Navagraha

- JUPITER It is reputed as the father of every living thing. The worship of

Jupiter grants pure, aesthetic life and good health & wealth. Also those

running

Jupiter dasha or Sub-period. Navagraha - VENUS The planet Venus (Shukra) is the

most benevolent of all the planets. To have a happy married life, one should

worship this planet. Also those running Venus dasha or Sub-period. Navagraha -

SATURN Saturn or Shani the sun of Surya and Chhaya is also known as 'eeshwara'

(The Supreme). It can make a person a king or a beggar according to the

native's karmas. Also those running Saturn dasha or Sub-period.Navagraha - RAHU

Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets and have the powers of saturn and mars

respectively. The proper worship of both the planets blesses all those who

suffer from sudden illness, loss of money and delay in marriage. Also those

running Rahu dasha or Sub-period. Navagraha - Ketu Persons afflicted by Kethu

dosham are stricken with fears of dacoity, bad habits, loss of property, loss

of face, putra dosham.

By praying to Kethu Bhagavan, one can be rid of the doshams. Motcham, sight,

property, land, gold, vehicle, fame, wife, children, happiness, unexpected

property gains are the beneficial aspects of Kethu Bhagavan. Knowledge,

business, leprosy, poisonous bites are the aspects of this planet.

Thanks
