Dear Tanvir and List Members.

 

I was going through the posts on Bhava Lagna, Arudha

Padas etc. So here is my understanding of Arudha Padas

etc. The following is what I have read and Understood

from Shri P.V.R Narshima Ji book about Arudha Padas.

As Tanvir was pointing out, how to co-relate it with

Vishm Dasha, so taken an example from book only and

sharing with you NICE people.

 

 

Lagna stands for the true self and AL stands for the

maya associated with self. It shows how native is

percieved in the MATERIAL WORLD. AL shows the status

of the Native. AL deals with maya, illusions,

perceptions and impressions and thus used for judging

materialistic things. So these are called BHAVA

ARUDHAS

 

There is one more thing Graha Arudha. As Aurdha padas

of the houses show illusions of the world related to

the matters signified by various houses. Graha Arudha

shows perception of a native about himself, about the

world and about the situations he is passing through.

 

Tanvir, I remember you have asked for the chart and

you were trying to co-relate it through Vishm Dasha.

Hope following example may be of some help to you.

 

This is chart of A.B Vajpayee (Hon. Prime Minister of

India).

 

D.O.B - Dec 25, 1926

Time: 5:12 a.m (IST)

78E10 and 26N14

 

Jupiter in 2nd House from AL can give a rise in

material fortune. But, Jupiter's Arudha Pada is in

Libra, 12 th house from Lagna. This can make native

feel Unhappy.

 

In Ju-Rah period, he became India's PM. Rahu in 8th

from Lagna and periods of rahu can can cause

discomfort, frustration, health problems etc. But

being a natural malefic in 6th from AL ensures

material success and victory over enemies (perception

of world about him).

 

Now come to Graha Arudha (native's perception) -

Rahu's Arudha Pada is in Libra, 12th from Lagna. This

can make native feel frustrated and Unhappy.

 

 

 

Gist: Analysis of the positions of planets with

respect to lagna shows reality. (in our example

Jupiter Dasha should give comforts in reality)

 

Analysis of the positions of planets with respect to

AL shows perception of the world (MATERIAL SITUATION).

(in our example the world percieves him that He is

very happy as there is a material success over

enemies, becoming a PM means Victory)

 

Analysis of individual bhava Arudhas shows those

things on which WORLD FORMS IMPRESSION about a native.

 

Analysis of the positions of the Aurdha Padas of

planets with respect to Lagna shows perceptions of the

Native. (in our expamle, the native feels frustrated

and Unhappy)

 

I hope, it might help you to corelate things with

Dashas.

about the chart of Mr Vajpayee :

 

he became prime minister in jupiter-rahu.

 

if i understand it correctly, this relates to both rise in status and position, defeating enemies.

 

but actually, see, being prime minister is not a matter of perception or ONLY

what poeple think about him. it is not ONLY about what people think about him

[maya]. When he became prime minister, he had truely power and command, what he

can use etc. so its not only abt perception, i guess - something real [asc] also

comes to play.

 

now if we see from asc then rahu is exalted in 8th, in gemini. 8th house rules,

battle. [a serious form of fight which is denoted by 6th.] so a strong malefic

in 8th can very well give win in battles. rahu also is good for material

success as i always say. rahu's dispositor merc is in asc, [directionally

strong] and joins 3rd lord saturn. [3rd house is again of competitions.]

 

rahu is 6th from AL, this makes him percieved as defeating his enemies, very

true - and its also real since rahu is exalted in 8th from asc [reality]. but

since rahu is in 6th from AL [perception] then he should also be seen unhappy

by people, people will think that he is unhappy, bec rahu is in 6th form AL...

not so? so people will see that he defeated his enemies and become the prime

minister, but is unhappy.

Dear Tanvir,

 

Thanks for your comments. I took this example from

Shri PVR ji's book. Yes you are correct, that comforts

will come in reality also.

 

1) Analysing from AL (taking AL as reference point) -

Jupiter is in 2nd from AL, so Jupiter Dasha will give

rise in material fortune.

 

2) Analyzing from Lagna (reality) - Jupiter is FB for

Scorpio Lagna and also occupying a quadrant, so

Jupiter dasha should give comforts in reality. and

this is true.

 

3) Now we come to Graha Arudha (it shows how native

feels) - see Jupiter's Arudha Pada (it's not A4) is in

12th house from Lagna. This make the native feel

unhappy and uncomfortable. It is perception of

Vajpayee. Though he is sucessful in reality as well as

percieved to be successful, but his mind may be

disturbed by political or other problems relatd to

country or something else.

 

Here is the computation of Graha Arudha for Jupiter.

 

step 1: Find the sign containing the planet of

interest.

 

Here Planet is Jupiter and placed in AQ. so sign

becomes AQ

 

Step 2: Now find sign owned by the planet.

 

Jupiter owns two signs and here Sg is stronger (as it

contains 3 planets). so Sg.

 

Step 3: Now we will count from sign found in step 1 to

the sign found in step 2 in zodiacal direction. We get

the count of 11. (it is not 1st or 7th so no exception

rule applicable here).

 

Step 4: Now we will count 11 from Sg (as it is

stronger) and we reach till Libra, which is 12th from

Lagna.

 

So Jupiter's Arudha Pada becomes Libra.

 

Gave these calculations as Jagannatha hora lite does

not computer Graha Arudhas.

 

Regarding Rahu - There is one rule I studied from PVR

ji's book that "Malefics in 3rd and 6th from AL makes

one bold and materially successful". This is how world

percieves him (victory of enemies and rivals).

 

On the other hand Natural benefics in 3rd and 6th from

AL makes one very gentle.

 

 

If you have a copy of Shri PVR ji's book, Kindly refer

to chapter 9 (Arudha Padas) as you are already pretty

good and experienced in Vedic Astrology, so you can

catch and understand those points more clearly, that I

might have overlooked.

 

However, Shri PVR ji explained Vajpayee's chart in the

book and whatever I understood, I shared here.
