Guest guest
greetings everyone ....... If a planet aspects it's own house, is this harmful or helpful to the indications of that house ansd would it depend on whether the planet is benefic/malefic and what house it's aspecting and what house it's sitting in? I had assumed it would be helpful; has anyone heard anything about this? And would a direct aspect(Opposite sign) be any different in effect than a non-direct aspect? again, thanks for the help, kelly
Guest guest
Dear Group Patron; Greetings and Salutations of the Highest; Namaste I am only a student of Vedic Jyotish, and catching up, but in reference to your question: There is in regards to this question the for quick research "Dispositor & Promoter" terms for planets when aspecting itself, its own house, or another planet in a house. Extensive discussions in the history of Astrology on this subject Lilly "Christian Astrology" to modern times A.J. Pierce. Certainly, a difficult consideration is if a planet is exalted, say Sun in Aries, then when it opposes itself, it is in its Fall, i.e., Libra. As with Sani, Saturn exalted in Libra, then opposing itself from Aries in its Fall. This too would affect the affairs of considered House. I believe Shad Bala was developed for this problem of multiple good & bad aspects of planets to houses, and their dispositions by sign & aspect. And we have the trines considered good, squares deemed stressful, and conjunctions determined by whether the planets are considered friends or enemies, or neutral. A.E.O.Carter devoted a book "Astrological Aspects" to aspects, and summarily goes with this last approach. Thus far Vedic texts in my reading have supported this thesis in the main. Houses and their allocated affairs being synonomous with the planet itself, but also considering the condition of the planet, that rules a specific house and its placement in the chart as a whole affecting those affairs of the house. I believe this is an Excellent question, and anticipate our more learned colleagues will shed light of this question. A question that has lots of different approaches. Guest guest
well A planet aspecting its own house is said to yield Raja Yogas as well. Most of the time it is true if the planet is aspecting by its 7th aspect. It is better to follow that the planet aspecting its own house is yielding raja yoga. But there are special cases to this rule. For example when Saturn is debilitated in Aries, by its aspect on the 10th, it can aspect its own house namely Capricorn, so the question will arise to the beginers whether the Saturn can give raja yoga irrespctive of its debilitation. Answer to this is yes it may give raja yoga untill otherwise aspected by its inimical planets such as Sun and so on. Supposing if teh same Saturn is aspected benefics then he may render Raja yoga without fail Bye now More arguements are welcome gandoff93 wrote: Dear Group Patron; Greetings and Salutations of the Highest; Namaste I am only a student of Vedic Jyotish, and catching up, but in reference to your question: There is in regards to this question the for quick research "Dispositor & Promoter" terms for planets when aspecting itself, its own house, or another planet in a house. Guest guest
Generally a planet aspecting own house is good. But a malefic aspecting it's own house might be bad in some matters. Like, 8th lord aspeting 8th house - good for longevity. My exalted Mars 3L aspects 3H - good for communication. But right from Mars bhukti I have been having no telephone facility till now! (prob in communication starting from exalted 3L bhukti???????) Why so? Because Mars is my 8L too, and so even though it is the house owner, it will harm some of it being the 8th lord... Guest guest
Hello, It's interesting and new rule(s) for me. For example in my case I have Leo Asc. Saturn in 10th aspecting it's own house which is 7th. (however it is not 7th aspect). In addition to this Mars is aspecting Saturn being in 3rd house by its 8th aspect. You mean to say something like this? is this Rajyoga? regards, Tushar --- Ramani Alwar <aramani_1969 wrote: > well > A planet aspecting its own house is said to yield > Raja Yogas as well. Guest guest
~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ Hello, Well this a new rule to me as well. But I think, the placement of planet (in inmical or friendly sign) should also be taken into account. Like in my case, I have Leo-Lagna, and saturn is placed in 1st house (Leo sign), so it is inmical to saturn. It is aspecting 7th house/sign (own sign of saturn) and 10th house (career), presently Sa MD is running, but I have problems related to both (7th house signifying relationships and 10th house signifying career). I guess there may be something else, that is missing. I guess placement of a planet aspecting it's own can be good, if it is well placed otherwise it goes other way round (my personal experience from my chart). I hope other can share their experiences / views. regards, Neeraj Gupta --- Tushar <tushar_9 wrote: > Hello, > > It's interesting and new rule(s) for me. For example > in my case I have Leo Asc. Guest guest
I agree with Tanvirjee, Usually the house is strenghtened by the aspect but the house of residence is little bit afflicted in general if it is aspecting from debilitated sign, enemical sign. Again if the same planet is aspected by benefics the results are very fine. Yours sincerely A. Ramani. Tanvir <tanvir wrote: Generally a planet aspecting own house is good.
