Guest guest
Hello, I have a copy of Lalita Sahasranamam, but do not remember which site I got it from. It is 12 MBs. Now this list does not have much space to upload it. Nor I can send it to you via mail since hotmail or mail do not offer more than 4 MBs highest. So if you or any other members have any idea how can I send, please let me know. Best wishes,Tanvir What can not happen, can never happen.Which is mine, is forever mine. Guest guest
Hi, thanks for the idea :-) Typical internet connections in India, Bangladesh, etc. are generally 3/4 KBPS, means it would need 72 mins non-stop connection for transfering such a file. In the mean while if connection is disconnected once, we would have to start from beginning... :-( best wishes, tanvir What can not happen, can never happen.Which is mine, is forever mine. Guest guest
You can try the following : http://www.srividya.org/slokas/HTML/Litha_Shasranamam.htm Has a recitation of lalitha sahasranamam in mp3 format - 12 MB file download. http://www.musicindiaonline.com/ Has streaming version (cannot be downloaded) - 2 versions, one sung by Smt. Sivananda Vijayalakshmi, the other by Smt. M S Sheela To listen, go to the web site. Use the search box, category devotional, type in "lalitha sahasranamam" - takes you to a page where you can choose either one to listen to. You will need to have real player or Windows media player installed. musicindiaonline has almost all the slokas / mantras available in streaming versions. Hope this helps. Guest guest
You're welcome - though I haven't really done anything to merit it. All our thanks should go to the person(s) who created and put up the original file. Guest guest
Dear Tanvirji, How about you zipping the mp3 and then checking the file size? Namaste. Guest guest
Dear Rageshwari Zipping the file will not help - mp3 is a highly compressed format and hence cannot be significantly compressed further. (reduces from 12359kb to 12055 kb - still too large to email). Winrar is similar. The only other option if you cannot download directly, is to split the archive and then mail individual parts separately - but you will have to combine it at your end. Let me know if you want it done. Guest guest
Dear all, Thanks for the suggestions of file transfering. I am thinking of opening a netfirm a/c for storing big files - it allows 25 MB storage. If I do so, I will put a notice there that this storage is only for the list members. I am against of global distribution for the reasonable copyright protection - but since we do not have big enough mailboxes, we uploaded the files there for sharing in private circle. The files are only for sharing among friends and private circles and not for global distribution. So only list members would be able to access them (Provided no external links). So adopting this method to "Share only in private circle" might help avoid copyright laws. I also want to make sure that no search engines can list them. Let us see what happens. Best wishes, Tanvir What can not happen, can never happen. Which is mine, is forever mine.
