In most cases the malefics are taken as Saturn, Rahu, and Mars. Is to note where they start and where they end, as this is indicative of some peticulair karmas.Also pay attention to the planets in both the beginning and end of the string.And whether the nodes are infuencing it in a significant way. FOr one thing in the case you mention as the houses involve, early life, childhood youth and mid age, and end there in 6th house. So how did his life begin? famous early on? How did he die, enemies? This means that curse has to be in the Rasi chart and then can be confirmed from the Divisional charts to see where they originate from. This means that curse has to be in the Rasi chart and then can be confirmed from the Divisional charts to see where they originate from.
