Guest guest
Hari Om, Can someone help me with my understanding of argala according to Sage Parasara? In chapter 31:2-9 Parasara explains that| "Grahas in the 4th, 2nd, and the 11th (from a bhava or a graha) cause Argalas, while obstructors of the Argala will be those in the 10th, 12th, and 3rd from a bhava or a graha." I use JHora to construct charts, in this program obstructors are identified as virodhargala. My first question. Why is the 9th [from a bhava or graha] included among the virodhargala? My second question. Can someone demonstrate the effects of argala and virodhargala upon each other using my ascendant as the point of reference? Olusanya Bey 9/29/1961 8:20 am Jacksonville, North Carolina 77 W 25' 50", 34 N 45' 14" I am having difficulty understanding how to interpret these effects, I think a demonstration will help me to wrap my mind around the principles. Any help would be greatly appreciated. dhanyavAdAH. Namaste, olusanya

Guest guest
||Hare Rama Krsna|| Dear Olusanya, Namaskar The fifth house shows ones future plans, and aspirations. This is blocked by ones past fortune/debts, etc. Sometimes the blockage is a good thing, i.e. if malefics are in fifth house then you are listening to people with bad intentions and planning in the same way, but then benefics in the ninth house can show gurus blessing of good advise coming to you and obstructing the 'wrong planning'. Now try the same from the tenth house in the chart. Tenth house shows career and profession and the future of this is income/venture capital seen from the second house. This is obstructed by the sixth house, showing that first you must do some service/strife (past) before you can think about starting up new ventures with that income. So teh concept of argala is very much linked to the houses, without doubt.
