If you see, Eighth lord Jupiter is afflicted by Saturn and Mars (graha dristi) forming a curse, and recieves rasi dristi by both nodes. But the lagnesh is only afflicted by one malefic and the lagna itself is not touched. So the intelligence can grow and develope. His guiding principles are suffering though, as Saturn the AK is joined the Bhratrikaraka – this isn’t good. The problem will afflict the intellect the most during the kumbha mahadasa, as the lord of kumbha is shani/rahu and from these the dhi-karaka is in marana karaka sthana. So until kumbha mahadasa ends, it will be hard to see any improvement. Since Jupiter is the main problem, the best advise is to worship Guru, and for this we have a specific mantra from Dattatreya Upanishad to remove any unmadana yoga. This should be recited by the mother for atleast one mala, on the childs behalf; dattätreya hare krshna unmattänandadäyaka | digambara mune bälapisäca jnänasägara || 1|| anustup chandah |sadäsiva rshi | dattätreao devatä This should be done through the kumbha dasa.
