Dr B.V.Raman memorial conference on Gochara

Dear Jyotisa

 

This is to remind one and all that the SJC 4th Annual Conference titled

"Dr.B.V.Raman Memorial Conference on Gochara" is to be held in Delhi in 2006

from Thursday 12-19 January 2006. Please book your tickets now for the

conference to avoid the rush during holidays. This conference isfocused on

Gochara and there is going to be a two day workshop on remedial measures. I

intend to take a half day each in those conferences so that by the time we are

done, the Jyotishi will have a thorough working knowledge of remedial measures.

 

Sri Niranjan Babu, son of Late Dr.B.V.Raman has consented to be the Chief Guest

and flag off the conference. We expect many other good speakers to present

papers at the conference including new members of the lists and astrologers who

have not spoken earlier.

 

Please wait for the consolidated mail from Sarbani Sarkar, President SJC for the

details of places available at cheap rates for the attendees of the conference.

However this mail is sent for two purposes -

(1) so that you may book your flight/train tickets before hand for the journey, and

(2) mail your papers to me (Attn: Sanjay Rath, Chairman, SJC at srath (AT) srath (DOT) com)

 

Format for papers

1. All papers should be in A4 pages in 10pt font size (for all headers and

headings use the same font size but in bold). Use single spacing only and do

not give additional space between paragraphs.

2. Charts should not be attached unless in jhd files which can be sent in a zip

archive along with the paper. Where-ever a chart is to be inserted, please

write "insert chart" and give the chart details including the ayanamsa you want

to use with the chart.

3. Do not send pictures in the initial paper.

4. Papers should not be longer than 25 pages.

 

Awards proposed (not yet confirmed)

1. Best paper award

2. Best research award

....we are looking for sponsors for these and other awards. You can sponsor any

award in any form. Please write to me personally about what you want to

sponsor.
