Pranaam Gurudev,

I am bit confused between Para Vidya and Apara Vidya.

Para Vidya ruled by Moon who is illuminated by Sun's light. Hence the

knowledge related to this world matter. Siddhis come under Para Vidhya?

Apara Vidya ruled by Sun, signifiy actual wisdom, ones own light or light of

supreme. Astrology comes under this?

Kindly explain the meaning of world "Para" in signification to this?

Please guide.

Regards

Dear Ajay,

Namaskar. parAvidya = parA + bidya. 'parA' is the feminine

form of 'para' as Vidya is feminine.

Amongst other things para means 'other than' or external. apara (or

aparA) means not external or pertaining to the supreme self.

parAvidya is knowledge of the external world and aparAvidya is

knowledge of the internel world viz. Self/Supreme.

If you consider jyotisha to enhance or amplify your understanding of

the Soul/Self, you should categorize it as aparAvidya.

I will await Visti-ji's comments,

Sourav

Dear Sishya,

Namaskar

Para-Vidya

is the knowledge of spirituality, and is lorded by the Sun, who is the

atmakaraka.

A-Para

Vidya is the knowledge of the material realm and is lorded by the Moon who is

manakaraka.

These two grahas

each lord the day and night respectively, which by approximation has been

understood as 24 hours. These 24 hours or Horas, correspond to the 24th

divisional chart known also as Siddhamsa.

Best

wishes,

Dear Visti-ji,

Namaskar. Thank you for clarifying Para/Aparavidya. I

see that you took the other meaning of Para which is "beyond"

Material realm. I realize I was wrong by taking Para meaning outward.

Thanks again.

Would you kindly explain how to see para and aparavidya in D-24 ?

That is how much of it we are destined to receive in this life ?

Best wishes,

Sourav
