Guest guest
I was following your 2004 Nagpur Conf and came to a part where you were talking about opposite pairs of planets and if someone has an afflicted Rahu then they can benifit by praying to the opposite planet which was mentioned to be Mercury (Vishnu) Also you had mentioned that if this planet happens to be special like an AK or an Ishta Devata then it would be an added bonus I have Sa + Ke in Capricorn lagna, and Mars + Ra in 7th and all totally in line in the middle of the house, I am running Ra-Ve dasha and Ra period has been not so good since 1999. I therefore think that my Rahu is afflicted and I need to make special prayer to some God. I did my calculations and the AK-Moon in 8th has unoccupied Virgo in D9 and Mercury was therefore my Ishta Devata. Pdt Sanjayji in another lecture had listed all but left Mercury open and said go figure, Budh. However you in this context had suggested Vishnu and Mallikarjuna in particular. I have two questions 1. I thought Rahu to be an afflictor than get afflicted. Does it get afflicted when it get together with Jupiter or is in its debilitated sign Scorpio? 2. You had suggested Durga for Rahu elsewhere because Durga killed the demon. I was therefore wondering if I should pray to both. Currently I have them all, and Durga is in the center. An astrologer in another group had suggested Ganapathy and I have several of those. However recently I gifted away my Buddha to a parting colleague and wondering if I should replace it with another one, just to be safe. I would also be grateful if you can suggest a generic mantra for me and remedies, because I think I need some. Guest guest
Shri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Soumit, Rahu can be controlled by Jupiter, exposed by the Sun, crushed by Mercury, depending on individual charts. The reason Mercury can crush Rahu, is because of its opposition in the Kala Chakra. One of the best ways to propitiate afflicted planets is to worship the deity of the planet opposite to it in the Kala Cakra, as planets placed in opposition therein can counter each other. Mercury and Rahu; Saturn and Mars; Sun and Venus have the ability to completely suppress the other. Hence, the deity of Mercury can be worshipped to crush a malefic Rahu. Deities may be worshipped at various levels: as saktis of the planets, as forms of Vishnu or as the deities associated with the tithis. For example, Rama is worshipped on Navami, Ganesha on Caturthi, Sarasvati on Pancami, Siva on Caturdasi etc. Rahu in your chart has a peculiar position. It is placed in the malefic 1/7 axis causing Kuja Stambhana, Sarpa Yoga and ruining the 7th house. It is afflicting your AK Moon, aspecting it in the rashi and conjoined it in the navamsha. Surya is debilitated and there is mutual aspect of Jupiter and Rahu. Jupiter is also in Rahu's nakshatra. This leaves Mercury. Vishnu shines in your chart from whichever angle I look at it! Mercury is exalted in the 9th house, which is the Vishnu sthana. As the 9th lord of your chart it is in Brahma shastiamsa. Mercury is your ishta devata. Mercury is your Dharma Devata. Interestingly, it is placed in its own sign in navamsa. In Vimsamsa, it is the 5th lord of bhakti placed in a kendra. In Shastiamsa, if your D-60 is correct, it is in the 5th from lagna, which shows what you need to worship to rectify the karmas of the present birth. The peculiar thing is Rahu is also Bhratrikaraka and is in the Karamkamsha. So if you worship Vishnu as guru it may be a good idea. Krishna mantras in particular can be good for you as he is the Jagatguru (remember Om Krishna Guru?). Jagannath himself is guru. Vyasa is a guru and in the Vishnu sahasranama, Vyasa and Vishnu are worshipped interchangeably (vyasaya vishnurupaya vyasarupaya vishnave). You need to activate that Mercury. The adhi and pratyadhi devatas of Mercury is Vishnu and Narayana. As ishta devata and dharma devata mantra, I would think Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya is ideal for you. We usually use this mantra rather than Buddhadevaya. Your Mercury is in the 2nd drekakana of a dual sign, which indicates Vishnu avatar. Dual signs are full of akash tatva. This is the mantra par excellence as recommended by the Bhagavat Purana. It is not merely Krishna but the nirguna Narayana that you are worshipping through this mantra. He who dwells (vasa) in all the bhutas: sarva bhuta nivasosi vasudeva namastute. Per se you can chant any Vishnu and Narayan mantra whenever you want: your chart allows you that. Even a simple Om Vishnave Namah is good for you. And yes, you can happily worship Durga, given the conjunction of Rahu and Moon and the malefic influences on your 5th house in rashi which indicates female deities. The 5th sign is Taurus an even and a feminine sign lorded by a feminine planet, Venus. Rahu does not get afflicted, but maybe particularly malefic in a person's chart. Rahu is the demon, and the one who killed it was the Moon (Gouri), a Moon which was very Martian, that is Durga. Venus is also placed in a Martian sign, and it is your Dara Karaka. I would think a Chamunda mantra may be more appropriate, like the navarna mantra Aim Hrim Klim Chamundayai Vichhai. This would take care of 7th house and UL problems. Yes you have started sade sati and ardha kantaka. In Leo, you would be passing though ashtam shani. Please start reciting the Chamakam. If you can, recite the sri rudram as well. Guest guest
Many thanks for your input which I was desperately seeking for. I was running a Ra-Ke dasha until a month or so ago, and had somewhat fructified the prophecy of finding my Ishta Devata in that antardasha. I had zeroed in on Mercury, but I wasnt sure until now. Again many thanks for the direction and the prescription. Your second coat to the lectures I have already heard was well reinforcing. However I missed the Mallikarjuna part, and what I should worship on dwadashi, and I thought that one more thing that jives is that Mercury is my birth vara lord too. In another board, I was prescribed 12 weeks of Tue & Thu and prayers & propiations(like being veggie), to Lord Subramania which is popular in southern India as a remedy for sarpa dosha. I will be doing that too in order to spread my bets, thought I share that with you. Guest guest
Shri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Soumit, The jyotirlingas is worshipped as the atmalinga. We have many calculations to derive the form of Shiva which has given us birth, but the simplest way to worship the atmalinga is to worship the corresponding jyotirlinga to your AK. Your atmakaraka is the Moon, which represents the Somnatha linga. So the mantra for that would be Om Namah Shivaya Somnathaya Haum Jum Sah. Rahu is the cause of Sarpa Yoga, Sarpa Dosha etc. So one should do mantras to control him and check his malfeasance. For Mars for you, I would still stick to worshipping Chamunda. This takes care of your Mars and your Rahu. Best Regards, Sarbani [] On Behalf Of Soumit GuhaFriday, June 10, 2005 9:48 AMTo: Subject: RE: [Om Krishna Guru] Sarbaniji, Need guidance on whom to pray for Rahu Dear Sarbaniji, Many thanks for your input which I was desperately seeking for. Regards & Best Wishes Soumit Sarbani Sarkar <sarbani (AT) (DOT) org> wrote: Shri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Soumit, Rahu can be controlled by Jupiter, exposed by the Sun, crushed by Mercury, depending on individual charts. Best Regards, Sarbani [] On Behalf Of Soumit GuhaWednesday, June 08, 2005 9:13 AMTo: Subject: [Om Krishna Guru] Sarbaniji, Need guidance on whom to pray for Rahu Dear Sarbaniji, I was following your 2004 Nagpur Conf and came to a part where you were talking about opposite pairs of planets and if someone has an afflicted Rahu then they can benifit by praying to the opposite planet which was mentioned to be Mercury (Vishnu) Also you had mentioned that if this planet happens to be special like an AK or an Ishta Devata then it would be an added bonus I have Sa + Ke in Capricorn lagna, and Mars + Ra in 7th and all totally in line in the middle of the house, I am running Ra-Ve dasha and Ra period has been not so good since 1999. Guest guest
Thanks for the additional script. I now have Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya Aim Hrim Klim Chamundaye Vichhai and Om Namah Shivaya Somnathaya Haum Jum Sah, in my mantra cabinet That should take care of Mars & Moon, incidentally both of which were in marana karaka. Do you think I need to fix the other planet Saturn which is also in the marana karka sthana, in light of the sade-sati. I am sorry if I am beginning to sound like an astrological hypochondriac. Regards Soumit Sarbani Sarkar <sarbani (AT) (DOT) org> wrote: Shri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Soumit, The jyotirlingas is worshipped as the atmalinga.
