Guest guest
|| Om Krsna Guru || Dear Milan, Namaskar You will find answers to many of these questions in the archives of this list. I would highly recommend going through them. The Atmakaraka is the planet which has the highest longitude (in any sign) in the natal chart. For Rahu, this is reckoned in reverse. AL is the Arudha Lagna. It is found as follows: Count from Lagna to the lord of Lagna (both houses inclusive). Now count the same number of signs from the lord of Lagna. This will give youthe Arudha Lagna. Exceptions: If this count falls in the 7th house, then take the 4th house as AL, and if it falls in Lagna (i.e., Lagna lord is in Lagna), AL is in the 10th house. The AL is a very important point in a natal chart. It represents (in the simplest sense), the image of the native in society - the maya around which the native is perceived. With reverence to the Gurus, Samir ______________________ Message: 6 Sun, 01 May 2005 18:25:11 -0000 "milan_elza" <milan_elza > how to calculate atamkarka dear all gurujis namestee i am very new to subject. i was reading about atamkarka lesson on website but i am unable to understand how it is calculated for one's kundli. i am aware of lagna chart, chardra chart, navmansh chart etc. can any body tell me the meaning of AL chart, it is very frequently used by group memebers and on websites also. thanks milan
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Milan, The AL is Arudha Lagna. You can read about the Concept of Arudha in the archives or just search the net for it.Various classics have explained it. The Arudha is the perceived image of any house and is calculated from the house to its lord.Count to the lord from it's house[from Taurus to Venus] and then count from the lord the same number ahead and you will get the Arudha of that house. The exception is that the Arudha cannot fall in the same house or the 7th from it so when the Arudha falls here we count tenth or fourth from it.The Arudha of the lagna is called the AL or the Arudha Lagna. The Arudhas indicate what other people see things as.Appearances, perceived nature etc and also 11th house from the AL indicates the wealth one has. There is alot to this topic so go read some. The Atma karka is that planet which has the highest degrees. So look at the degrees of the planets and the planets with the higest degree is your atma karaka.Simialry, you can derive the other Chara Karakas. The second highest degress is the Amatya Karka next Bhratri Karaka and so on.You can read on this too in the archives of the list.Do remember the exception for Rahu though, if Rahu is at 2 degrees then it is actually at 28 degrees as Rahu's degrees are counted in reverse. So subtract Rahu's degrees from the 30 degrees of its sign. Hope this helps. These topics are very vast and alot to read and understand but are very helpfull tools in prediction so do read some on this. Guest guest
|| Om Krsna Guru || Dear Milan, Namaskar I don't know if there is any website that has complete examples per se. But you'll find plenty of lessons and articles at http://.org and http://srath.com to get you started. There are examples available there as well. If you're really interested in learning Jyotish, then you must without delay invest in some books that are absolutely essential. To start with you should study: 1. Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra 2. Jaimini Sutras translated by Sanjay Rath Then there's the Crux of Vedic astrology by Sanjay Rath, and plenty more books – classics and modern. Those of B V Raman are also a good foundation. But I think this is a good starting point. If you look in the "files" section of this group, there's a file called BirthDataBank2.zip . Or, I think there's a newer version in the files of the vedic astrology group (vedic astrology) There are lots of famous people's charts there to study. You will need Jagannath Hora for this. The files section also contains a set of introductory lessons that are very good, and other useful material. I hope that helps.
