Kamboola Yoga

Hare Rama Krishna, Namaste,

Author and astrologer Gayatri Devi Vasudev writes in her book

_Practical Horary Astrology_, "When there is Ithasala between two

planets, and the Moon is also in Ithasala with both of them,

Kamboola Yoga is formed. This is a favorable yoga." I believe this

is somewhat similar to "translation of light" in Western Horary

astrology.

Ithasala Yoga is an applying aspect formed when a faster planet with

less longitude is behind a slower planet with more longitude. That

is, the faster planet is at a longitudinally lower degree than the

slower planet. For example, Mercury at 5 degrees Taurus and Venus at

10 degrees Cancer in in Ithasala. It indicates a positive outcome in

regard to the significations of the bhavas involved.

Aspects used with Ithasala Yoga and Kamboola Yoga are Tajika (like

Western, including the conjunction, semi-sextile, sextile, trine,

square and opposition), and orbs are used (according to Neelakanta's

Prasna Tantra: Sun=15; Moon=12; Mars=8; Mercury=7; Jupiter=9;

Venus=7; and Saturn=9).

In an example chart, if the Lagna holds the Moon in Cancer, Mars is

in Scorpio, and Venus is in Pisces, all are in trines, and the Moon

is in Ithasala with Mars and Venus, both of which are in Ithasala

with each other, making a Kamboola Yoga.

Kamboola Yoga can be Shrestha (the best), Madhyama (ordinary) and

Adhama (the worst) depending on the strength of the planets

concerned.

My humble understanding is that these yogas and other similar types

of yogas are used in reading Prasna and Varshphala charts.

Best regards,

Juliana

Dear Juliana

I am new student to prasna astrology. I have tried several times to learn

Prasna Tantra.

But every time, I am not stopped to continue my studies due to lack of

understanding on

Muthasheela and Ithasala. From this mail, slightly I understood that

Ithasala is Moon behind

slower moving planet. Kindly help me in eloborate explanations on Ithasala

and Muthasheela and

also on the awasthas, to continue my studies on Prasna Tantra.

With kind regards,

Dear C and

Juliana, Namaskar

The Tajika

Yogas are very easy to remember if you imagine the grahas in their speeds. A

slow planet is like an old man, and this old man needs the help of younger more

able men/women – i.e. the faster planets, to give results.

So in the

movement of planets around the zodiac, the grand old men will be moving very

slowly and often overtaken by the younger runners. The old men will however be

able to enjoy some support when the younger runners are approaching them from

behind, encouraging them to run faster. Instead should the younger overtake the

older, then the chance is spoilt.

So take an

example – if Saturn is at 5 degrees and Jupiter is approaching him at 3

degrees. This is Ithasala Yoga. Another one; if Mars is at 7 degrees and Venus

is at 5 degrees, again Ithasala Yoga. However if Venus goes to 9 degrees, then

it is Easarpa yoga and the yoga is lost because Venus will overtake Mars.

If Mars and

Venus were first and seventh lords, then these results would be felt in

marriage matters. Example: Ithasala between first and seventh lords can give

marriage, whilst Easarpa Yoga between first and seventh lords denies marriage.

All the

Tajika Yogas revolve around the Ithasala and Easarpa Yoga, so these two need to

be understood first. Kamboola Yoga is the association of Moon with an Ithasala

Yoga, and moon being the fastest planet promises excellent results.

Keep in

mind that this is used in Prasna and Annual charts mostly, and not in natal

charts.

Is this

easier to understand?

Best

wishes,

***
