Dear Himanshu ji,

First of all pls don't add "Shri" (I'm not even become Mr. yet .... :-) ) or

"Ji" before or after Vinay (It itself override the meaning of Vinay !! )

Coming back to subject, thanks for quoting original Sanskrit words , and similar

things are taught around in Maharashtra also!! But this sloka gives more

importance to Angalakshana , I suppose !!

With Regards,

Vinay P.

Om Namo Bhagawate VasudevayDear friends,Namaste.I have not read the original

write-up nor the complete thread.however due to comments of Shri Vinay ji and

Shri Vishwanadham, inparticular reg. Right & left - I was reminded of the fact

that intraditional horoscopes in Northern India it is mentioned thatthe "SON

was born out of the RIGHT womb / DAUGHTER was born out ofthe LEFT womb".

Howsoever biologically incorrect, thisstatement "Dakshin-Kukshau

Putra-Ratnamajeejanat" or "Waam-KukshauPutri-ratnamajeejanat" may have some

astrological relevance.regards,Shri Krishnarpanamastu.Himanshu Mohan

Hare Rama Krishna

Dar Vinay, Namaskar

i liked your comment on Jaimini' as a part of Parasara. This line of

thinking will take you a long way in learning from SJC groups.

i have read UL chapter in BPHS (earlier also i tried reading - the

main problem i encounter is in the translation of first sloka, which

gives UL as the arudha of the 2nd house!).

12th is the house of lineage; son is considered important for

continuation of Gotra (gotra vriddhi). So bhagya is seen from the 9th

to UL.

Jamini's Upadesa sutras, expanded on this topic ( not that Jaimini

system etc.,).

Hope this helps.
