Guest guest
|| Om Namah Shivaaya || Dear list members, Namaskar, One of the ways I know to see how much faith someone has in God is seen from the A9. If it has the aspect or conjunction of the Sun or Jupiter, then the person will have a strong faith in God. But if it has the aspect/conjunction of Saturn/Rahu, then it will not be the case - as Rahu will cause plenty of doubts and Saturn may cause the person to leave their guru. Is there anything else that should be checked? My A9 in Rasi is joined Saturn and Venus, and aspected by Rahu, but I don't think I can say I don't have faith in God. I certainly hope not, anyway. Thank you, With reverence to the Gurus, Samir

Guest guest
Om Dakshinamurtaye Namah Dear Samir, There are several ways of seeing from the chart which diety one preffers or what type of mantras one does. 1.The 5th house indicates one bhakti or mantras.Planets here will indicate the type of worship. 2.Mantra pada [A5]will indicate how one does the mantra.Shani here can make one forgetful about thier mantras, also see the lord and aspects to it. 3.The D-20, Vimsamsa chart indicates ones sadhna. The trines to the lagna can indicate the diety for which the native does mantras.Planets in the 12th house will indicate about the meditation or dhyana etc. Best Wishes, Kanupriya. - "V.Partha sarathy" <partvinu [Om Krishna Guru] Re: Faith in God... Guest guest
|| Om Namah Shivaaya || Dear Kanupriya, Namaskar, Thank you for your guidance. However I'm still trying to distinguish between faith and practice. For example, some people are very good at reciting their mantras every day, and performing various rituals. But that doesn't necessarily mean they have an unshakeable faith in God. Meanwhile others can have great faith, but be very lazy about doing spiritual practice. I know the two can be linked - and good practice can lead to faith, but I feel they are two separate factors, and hence we must be able to determine them separately. Sri Sanjayji gives a good example in VRA - he says that even if someone is using the wrong mantra, that according to the suitability may actually do harm, if that person recites the mantra with absolute faith and conviction, shraddha, the only benefit can accrue. So one thing is to determine which deity a person will prefer etc, but another is to determine how much faith that person will have regarding the effect of his/her spiritual practice. Guest guest
Om Dakshinamurtaye Namah Dear Samir, The 5th house is the house of love and bhakti.Planets placed here will indicate the diety the native likes or feels bhakti towards. This is irrespective of chanting mantras or spiritual practise. This can be extended to the 5th house in the D-20 too. I thik Partha asked you that question with the intention to make you think.Gurus in SJC do not beleive in spoon feeding and are constantly encouraging us to read and think further more. What do you think A9 indicates.Glad to see you have a link, so naturally you have found your answers.
