2nd house matters

Dear list members, Namaskar,

I'm struggling somewhat to understand some fundamentals regarding the 2nd

house. I'd be grateful for some guidance.

What I know so far is that the 2nd house is the sustaining house - for

example we look at the 2nd from UL to sustain the marriage, and the 2nd

from AL to sustain various yogas. The 2nd from Lagna is said to

represent Vishnu. Planets placed in the second from a house can

have shubhargala on that house, and be of benefit to that house.

But it is also a maraka house (12th from 3rd), and hence

death-inflicting.

So the question is when does it do what? Is there a way to

determine what the effects will be? I think I'm missing come core

understanding here, hence the confusion.

I'm also a bit confused about the difference in roles between the maraka

houses and the 12th house. Lets say for college education, we look

at the 9th house. 12th (loss) from this is the 8th, 2nd from this

is the 10th, and 7th from this is the 3rd. Now what will each of

these houses/lords tell us as regards the progress of college

education? Which will show temporary breaks, which will show

termination, and which will show hindrances?

My logic tells me each of these houses should tell us a different thing

related to the continuity/breakage/end of education... I

guess the 8th from any house will show obstructions, but not necessarily

disruptions. And disruptions need not necessarily be

termination... So where do we look for what?

shows how much food is there to eat. If the 2nd house/lord is badly

placed or inauspicious then the native has very little to eat, and the planets

there will definitely not hesitate to kill. If the planets are strong, then

they will not kill easily and delay the time of demise. But one day one has to

leave – we only have a certain amount of food and a certain amount of

prana.

in education is to change you, or transform you. It can show major breaks or

changes in ones schooling. Instead the 10th house only has the role

of ending the higher education. This can happen prematurely or at the right

time, depending on the planets associating with the 10th house. The

7th house acts as a märaka as well, hence the 7th from

the 9th, i.e. 3rd is also seen for end of education, but

this break can come as a result of outside parties influencing ones studies. Many

people break their higher studies due to pregnancy or other such 3rd

house activities.

house is a problem, is because its transforming the lagna. Otherwise the 12th

from any house shows the expenses we have to meet to ensure our smoothe voyage

through this world.
