Guest guest
|| Om Namah Shivaaya || Dear list members, Namaskar, When a house in a chart is empty of planets, we can look to it's lord and we can look at the aspects on the house. The somewhat elementary question is - does either of these get priority, or does it depend only on the strength of the planets lording/aspecting? For example, if we're looking at the 10th house in the D-10, and the house is empty. Should we consider first the planets aspecting (rasi dristi) that house to determine what career is likely, or should we look at the planets influencing the lord of this house? Or both? Of course we would also consider the nature of the sign itself - but naturally planetary influences will have a significant contribution. My thinking is that the planetary influences on a house itself (i.e., by placement or aspect) will have a different effect to the influences on the lord of that house (regardless of whether the house is empty or not). But I'm not clear what the difference will be. The lord, I think, represents the animated form, while the house/rasi alone does not. So my guess it that the influences on the house would tell us about the nature of the house (so for career, it would tell us the type industry - government service, military, comms etc.), while the influence on the lord would tell us the manner in which we carry out that signification - with respect to our interactions (our specific job - technician, sales assistant, driver etc.). This is based on the analyses I've read in the list archives.... but I'm not sure... I would be grateful for comments and guidance regarding this type of analysis. Thank you, With reverence to the Gurus, Samir

If the lord of a house is weak, it can definitely destroy the house, but malefics in the house may only cause damage. This is why the entire marriage is totally dependant on the planet lording the 2nd from UL. 12.0pt"> For example, if we're looking at the 10th house in the D-10, and the house is empty. We are no longer looking for the strength of a house, but an order of significance as we are looking at the various jobs which will come. Guruji taught this in London; First know the order of houses, 6th, 10th and 2nd is the order of the houses which will indicate your work/job. In a particular house, the jobs will come in the order of sign (and occupants), lord and then aspects (Rasi dristi). Using this order you can understand which jobs came and in which order. 12.0pt"> My thinking is that the planetary influences on a house itself (i.e., by placement or aspect) will have a different effect to the influences on the lord of that house (regardless of whether the house is empty or not). When you find a particular planet indicating a job, you have alot of choices as to which area it is in. i.e. Ketu can indicate mathematics, jyotish, realestate and even elephants. The dispositor of ketu will give the particular field. i.e. if the dispositor is joined Mars, then definitely real-estate. But, these methods i feel requires some more work, atleast from my side. 12.0pt"> I would be grateful for comments and guidance regarding this type of analysis. Guest guest
|| Om Namah Shivaaya || Dear Vistiji, Namaskar, Thank you for your guidance. Please allow me to clarify my understanding: First know the order of houses, 6th, 10th and 2nd is the order of the houses which will indicate your work/job. In a particular house, the jobs will come in the order of sign (and occupants), lord and then aspects (Rasi dristi). Using this order you can understand which jobs came and in which order. 1. Does this mean the first job will be seen from the 6th house and not from the 10th? More specifically, it will be seen from the sign/planets in the 6th house? 2. In this order of houses, does the 10th house get the greatest importance in terms of the most significant job (or contribution to society) we will have - or does it depend on other factors? 3. Let me try my chart as an example - using (for now) the 10th house in D-10. 10th house is Gemini, without any planets in it. So we consider only Gemini for now. This would indicate something to do with communications/writing. For the next job, we consider aspects. Yipes! There's the aspect of Jupiter, Rahu, Ketu, Mars and Venus. This could mean a multitude of things! Jupiter, Ketu are there, and Mars for discrimination, so maybe even something to do with Jyotish? In such a case should I be looking at these planets in order of strength? And the next job would be indicated by the lord. The lord is Mercury in a Venusian sign (Taurus) with no aspects. This could again mean writing - but with an artistic angle. Perhaps some form of literature or something... Is this the correct way of looking at it? As far as determining jobs goes, how far should I also take into account the 10th house in the Rasi chart? Will it change the work I do, or more who I do it for and why I do it (if that makes any sense)? My 10th in D-1 has the Sun and the Moon, which, if the do influence the job itself, would drastically change the above analysis. It is becoming apparent to me that if this analysis is correct, then the transition from one 'job' to the next might not necessarily be immediate - but gradual (or even combined) in accordance with the dashas in effect. But you said that the 6th house will come first - so before I get to these jobs, I'll probably be doing something else, right? I'm thinking that the order of houses could also show that most of us have to start our career with some form of service (6th), before it moves on to a possibly more independent job (10th) where earnings may be higher, followed by retirement of sorts, perhaps helping out the family etc. (2nd). Don't know if that's logical, just sharing my train of thought... Pranaam, Samir

Guest guest
|| Om Namah Shivaaya || Dear Vistiji, Namaskar. Thank you. I very much appreciate your concise and to-the-point answers. Makes me have to work :-) I have another question: does a similar set of rules apply for education? I know primary/secondary education is seen from the 5th, and higher education is seen from the 9th house (and D-24), so if we count another 5 houses, then we get to Lagna... Which is interesting should it be the case. Does the order of sign, lord, aspects also apply here? Pranaam, Samir ||Hare Rama Krsna|| Dear Samir, Namaskar First sign, then lord, then aspects. We start from the 6th, then 10th, ending with 2nd. 10th shows what we were trained to do... usually we do not become presidents on the first day of work so we start from 6th. Guest guest
|| Om Namah Shivaaya || Dear Rafal, Namaskar, Thanks for that. You showed how the two lords gave different successive education for you. Now the question is, prior to either of these, did you learn something related only to the Rasi in question, and any planets posited there? And after both of those, have you been learning something with respect only to the aspects on that house? I want to understand whether the order that Vistiji gave for studying career also applies with education.
