Maybe a little more openness is needed. Better not think too much about it on Amavasya. I’ll keep it short for now; I remember that any planet which is vargottama is a fame-bringer. The planets nature indicates what activity must be done (mars-fights,war,battle,etc) and its avastha shows how you will feel when you get that fame (debilitated-illness, depression, being uncomfortable, etc). Now with any planet, its placement and lordship is important. Deduce that along with the reading. i.e. a person had badhakesh Jupiter debilitated in the 5th house and vargottama. He suffered scizophrenia, but was blessed with children and a wife who looked after and nurtured his illness, and a good position in government. This way life is very relative. Now in cases of BV Raman and Sanjay Rath, their Mercuries are vargottama and they have attained fame through writing books. Did you mean "any planet" or "malefic planet" in specific ? (a) 3H is 11-th from the 5H (house of recognition) so 3H indicates gaining of recognition, that's why malefics here is bad ? (b) Or is it because 3H is 6th from 10H so represents obstacles to fulfilment of work ? © Or is it because 3H and 7H shows longivity of work in D10 just like they show sustenance of the physical body in D-1? There Guruji gives us a nice list of houses which are enmical towards the profession. The 3rd, 8th and 12th houses are the evil houses in D10. Reason being that they are the 3rd houses from the 1st, 6th and 10th houses, which are important for the profession. Now it makes sense. 3H- stort breaks in job; 8H - long breaks possibly betweek jobs and 12- end of all jobs. And this is only for service life. What about for self-owned business where 7H is important? 3rd from 7th is 9H so its bad for business? Is that right ? Because dharma (9H) and desire to own business (7H) doesn't go hand in hand ? I dont like my logic. No I havent started studying COVA yet. I am with Narasimha-ji's Integrated Approach. Would you please tell me the **web-site** for the archives. If I get time, I want to complie all the Vargottama discussions in one place. As you said badhakesh and debilitated Jup in 5th House gave children.This may happen only when lagna is virgo. In this case Jup is the lord of two kendra and occupying trikona.Classic says jup and mercury has kendradhipati dosha. But as per this chart there is no kendradhipati dosha as well there is no karakah bhavo nashaya also . It means these dicta do not act. Now I am taking the example of vargottam and debilitated Mars.Lagna is cancer and Mars occupies the lagna.Here Mars is yogkaraka and the lord of fifth and tenth house. It has to give the result of 5th and 10th house related matter.When the planet is vargottam debilitated and as in the awastha of dead.Then also will it give its full result pertaining to its significations and lordship.Can we say that the native is Manglik.? What I think, I may be wrong also, this Mars does not have so strength that it may give the result of its significations and the result of its lordship.The native may not be told as manglik.I am saying all this due to its status of being in dead awastha. On the contrary native may be timid , dull, lazy.He may not be interested doing any job. He may be blessed with children. What is your opinion ?
